These are a list of reasons why Ben is the better choice. First of all, Devi's mom already likes Ben. Second, like Devi's mother said, Ben keeps Devi on her toes, they make each other better. Third, when she was hanging out and caught up with Paxton, (even if Paxton had good intentions and secretly liked her) she always feels like she can't act like herself and even ended up getting into trouble over and over again with her family and with her friends for someone who constantly ignores her. He got angry and ignored her for something she didn't do which made Devi turn on her mom even more. Ben was the reason that Devi and her friends, her mother reconciled. Even if when they fought, Ben tried to understand the reason behind Devi's behavior. Devi can always act like herself with Ben and vise versa. Ben knew Devi better since they knew each other from childhood. The situation goes both ways, Devi makes Ben want to step out of his comfort zones and she makes him less lonely than he actually is and makes him care more about others rather than just himself. They make each other better people, they need each other.
