Equipment failure can also cause an outage. Speaking of that I'll always appreciate the people who fix the power outage. Electricity is what we always rely for many things.

Why are these brave people not considered first responders. They travel the United States to help people heck the fire fighters won't even go in some houses without these people killing the power first which puts them in danger.

It's NOT a fuse box! It's a breaker panel!! Why would we take advice from you when you don't even know the difference between the two? You Fail!!

You should have added that if a tripped breaker immediately trips again, then stop and call an electrician. Repeating tripped breakers indicates a short, and repeatedly reseting a breaker in this situation may result in an arc flash.

Make sure you only use one hand to open the panel cover door. It's hazardous to use two. Make sure you shut the cover properly when you're done.

We can't thank these men and women enough for what they did during that storm. It was amazing - and they are greatly appreciated -- beyond words. Thank you to all of them and to their families for the sacrifices they all made on behalf of all of us. Having lived in North and South Dakota and Minnesota most of my life, I can truly say that these people went far above and beyond what they signed on for. A HUGE thank you to each and every one who was out in the field and who were behind supporting them all the way.

My first real job after high school was with our local power company in South Texas. I appreciated our workers then, and I appreciate them now. Thank you brave workers!
