Faith Ringold. Mary Hoffman's Grace series. Nikki Grimes-Stepping out with Grandma Mac, children's poetry. I think I remember a Langston Hughes book of collected poetry for young folk.

I’m finding my space as a black author and publisher on both Tiktok and Youribr. I’ve seen quickly that we are fighting the algorithm! At this point both platforms can catch me outside. ALSO! This is why investing in marketing coaching is important. They have the keys. We can learn the keys and use them. But yes it costs. 😩😩

I love this discussion! It’s always difficult finding space in a world that doesn’t wish to see you. As a faithful believer, my ABBA is I’ll prepare the table I’m going to sit at and bring others to sit with me. For sure. I think variety is the spice of life. Having both longer and shorter content gives people the chance to know, like and trust you. Just my 2 cents on what I’ve seen so far.

If you haven't caught on by now Communists and many resentful people of color like this poster and many commenters want to erase all white history and beloved western classics........it's just that simple folks..... White people are allowed their own culture/history/myths etc.... Sorry to break it to you but we don't need blacks or brown people to create wonderful glorious culture ...... Books about intersectionality and racism are being pushed constantly and stories can't exist to these people without grievance 24/7.......

I really love going to the library every since I was like 3 years old. What I really appreciate is that it saves me a lot of money and I dare to pick up and read books I would never read otherwise! I go to my library almost every week, sometimes to only sit there and read. I'm chronically ill and because of that I can't work, so the library gets me out of my house which is lovely

I've enjoyed your content consistently through the years <3 This is a new channel, but my original personal channel has been subbed for years. It hurt my heart to watch this video because I went through the same thing recently and I just cut out all the stuff that made me unhappy and focused on what does make me happy. It was so hard at first, but it was so worth it and I'm in a much better place for it! As sad as this video is, it's so obvious to see how much this is needed for you and I think you'll be so much happier <3

Truly an end if an era. I've always appreciated your content, and ive learned a lot about the library system and children's fiction from you. Thank you for all you've given to this space. And hope to see around the community in other ways. Much love to you and baby girl.

Just finished "Be Real, Macy Weaver" and everything you said was spot on. But did the author ever mentioned why all the last names started with "W". Weaver, Walker, Wu... What was up with that? LMAO

Ashley, I will miss your channel, and consider you a quality booktuber. You were one of the reasons I took the plunge and decided to get my MLIS. Loved library school and love being a librarian. I think that quality booktube is dying. I have completely lost interest in the young-girl booktuber that is just a bait-and-switch for lifestyle blogs. I am much more judicious in my viewing and limit myself to older, more Britsh booktubers.

I'm so sorry I'm seeing this late, you know me smh. But girl, I love you. I'm so proud of you. I've watched you grow this channel all these years, holding your head high above the politics and drama. Such a classy, intelligent woman. You were my fave from Day One, love. Someone sharing your heart and your knowledge with us all, the eternal giver. I've always wondered where you find the time, and meanwhile your incredible self was trying to find more time for us! Such a beautiful soul you are. People should look to this channel and aspire to be what you are. I mean it. You know I do & now you can pass the baton. Thank you for sharing so much of you with us. Thank you for including me in this family all those years ago, being a friend without comparison, and teaching me more than you could ever imagine. Enjoy life you beautiful woman, you deserve the world. Always here for you! Your next chapter begins now...turning the page.

I sporadically get on KZfaq but when I have, I’ve always enjoyed watching your videos. If this channel is no longer serving you creatively or bringing joy and only causes stress, it’s time this chapter closes so another one can start. I’m happy for you 💜

People underestimate how much time editing takes the back end etc it’s a lot to juggle like you so eloquently explained and you have a family it’s a lot… 9-5 job as well. I hope you find time to prioritize your happiness more now and looking after yourself as well. I hear you about leaving while it’s still enjoyable and you have some love for it. 10 years is a long time… and you’ve definitely left an impact for sure I hear you mentioned on other ppls channels I’ve been slowly checking out more and more channels by black woman and you’re highly recommended. And I can see why ❤

I'll miss you so much. You built such an amazing space for us.For readers. It's so fun hearing your thoughts. Burnout happens & it isn't sustainable. As a hobby it's fun. But if the joy isn't there then it's certainly time to go. Your mental health above all else. You've made an impact.

You have definitely given me a lot. You've given me the courage to start my channel with content that I wanted to have on it instead of the random 3 videos that I had back in 2013. I post unboxing videos, reading videos, and life videos, and that wouldn't have happened had I not come across your channel. And now I'm a self-published author. Thank you for that, and I wish you well.

Yip. I've been a Librarian for 9 months. Not easy to get in the door. I'm from South Africa. I needed to go through a lengthy interviewing process. We have a chef librarian, two senior librarians, the librarians, assistant librarians, Library aids, part time assistant librarians, student interns

Dang it...I'm always "a day late and a dollar short." As a newer subscriber, I'm sad you have to say goodbye, but you know what you need, so trust yourself. I have to be honest and say I haven't read a comic book since junior high school (and I KNOW there were no people in those who looked like me, which is probably why I stopped reading them)! But I'll hop over to your other channel and check it out. And I'll STILL watch videos on this channel (so I hope you're not going to take them down). Stay well, stay happy, and God bless.

I know your channel was one of the first I followed on KZfaq. I have always appreciated the recommendations and reviews. As the number of content creators has rapidly increased it has been nearly impossible to keep up with everyone’s content-even the content that I enjoy. So I am sorry if I played even a small part in your channel slowly dying. I will try to do better moving forward with other creators. Good luck moving forward. Thank you for all you have given to the community.
