Okemos is just a census designation. It is just an idea, like disestablishmentarianism. There is no Okemos mayor; no Okemos parade. Sad face.

Moving to East Lansing? Get prepared for the city income tax, ongoing riots, mass shootings, crime and ongoing sporting events that’s East Lansing

Overhyped city and dead downtown
@MichiganUSASingaporeSEAsia5 ай бұрын
The shopping mall is dead, Okemos is costly, has a silly city tax (East Lansing & Lansing) and much crime from MSU which filters over to the other communities . In fact, MSU has the most campus crime in the state among all colleges. To add, Okemos is not diverse at all. Very few low or middle class which is why their schools perform well.

Michigan has been transformed into a 'Blue' Leftist State. No way on GOD's green earth would I ever consider stepping into a Blue Leftist State. I want to be in a 'Red' State. Leftist Democrat hell holes are for Democrats.

Okemos was founded in 1841 by Freeman Bray, a Canadian. Originally the village was named Hamilton. But the people who lived there called it Okemos and wanted it changed which it was in 1859. Freeman married, Had a family, and died in Okemos in 1895. I'm a descendant of Freeman Bray. He was my 4-Time Great Uncle. In fact my middle and last name is Freeman Bray. Freeman was the 4th Child and 3rd son of Mahlon Bray Sr. and Rachel Freeman, My 4 time Great Grand parents.

Lansing was way better a hundred years ago.. it was a powerhouse of free enterprise and capitalist.. and the newspaper was called the Republican.... Pretty much now a college Town hijack by the Democrats..... Which means crime and lots of free lunch programs.....😮

I love Michigan, lived in Holland and my sister went to Michigan State. I hunted and fished that state for years. The people are awesome. Unfortunately, thanks to your governor and current political climate, there is no way I could invest my money or my future in what has now become a shadow of it's former self.
