Man i wondered how these came off. I came across one at a salvage yard and i couldnt take them off. Another visit i went with my bro and he took them off with ease. I plan to either use them on my 78 Cadillac Coupe or sell them.

It’s really one bolt , the center top area .. but it’s 3 knob/prongs at the bottom u have to pry apart from the housing to the light .. and then it comes out .. be careful not to break or crack anything

THANK YOU FOR THIS EXACT VIDEO!!!!! It took me let alone 30 minutes to find someone of explained what was exactly used to spin the back side of caliper in. You showed exactly what had to be spun “the splines” which I have been dying to see before I do this tomorrow morning. You were by far very detailed through the whole video. Once again thank you!!! 2019 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T

What did you do about the fluid from removing the radiator hose? Was there water that came from the water pump? How did you replace these liquids?

You can also retract the piston's spline using a 9V battery on the motor's terminal pins. Then you don't have to dismantle the motor casing.

You can also use a small flat head screwdriver to unwind the power break gear if you don't have a torque bit. I didn't have a bit the right size so gently using a small flat head screwdriver worked perfectly.. It should move easily. Once the gear is turned all the way back you may still have to depress the caliper cylinder. It should depress easily. If you feel you have to start using a lot of force the power brake gear may not be all the way turned out.

Thanks for the great video! I've got an Ioniq and had to change out the rear discs cos here where I live in Norway, we don't change brake pads, only discs 😂😂 (because of the salt) your video gave me hope because of the EPB issue. However I'd like to say that I figured out you can just 'carefully' jumper 12v DC onto the EPB motor plug terminals (after unplugging from car of course) and that will turn the motor in or out depending on the polarity. Very easy to do! When you finished with the job and have the wheel still off, just activate EPB once or twice and it automatucally sets it.

I get comfort by sending the park brake screw mechanism back against the pad before I reinstall the motor. It may not make a difference but it'll lessen the chance of the computer sensing something is off. Nothing would be worse than beating the dealership, and then having to take it to them. They laugh at you!
