I, too, have this lovely paper collection...a more sophisticated take on bees. LOVE this card! The dimensional leaf colors are really getting my creative attention...looking forward to the flower tutorial to see how you achieved this look. Adding the thin twine string bow makes a nice difference...another rustic, country layer detail. I think I would dangle a couple small bee charms from beneath the button (personal preference). It's wonderful that we can create personalized theme cards...don't have to hope that Hallmard or American Greetings has what we want. I finally made a place for my portable (all metal, heavy) sewing machine to have a permanent (always ready to use) home...stitching is such an unexpected detail...no more excuses for not doing sewing on cards! I love family birthdays! Beautiful work, Kathy!

Hi Kathy! What a fun project. Maybe one of these days I will have time to start something I have never made before. I will need to watch this again when I do because I was watching this folding laundry. John, Lindsay (our oldest daughter) left for Rochester, MN (Mayo Clinic) last Monday and got settled into our hotel before all the appointments on Tuesday. John had his PET Scan Tuesday morning at 6:15 a.m. He had blood work after it was over and we had a meeting with the Nurse Practitioner from his care team at 10:45 a.m. We had a great meeting with Robin (we really like her). The PET Scan could not have come out any better. She told John he aced it and there was no cancer present on the scan. She explained he will still have to go through the next three months of treatments but they are going to lower the dosage of the in hospital chemo (Cytarabine). He had the high dose Cytarabine in July. His blood counts got very low. He didn’t have any white cells for two weeks and his neutrophils got extremely low as well. Both of those help fight infection. So we stayed home for those two weeks other than going and getting blood work done at our local hospital three times a week. He had to have a platelet transfusion on the second Friday after we got home. So since his PET Scan came out good and because of the trouble he had with the low blood counts they decided he should have the lower dose Cytarabine in September. All of his immunotherapy and chemo appointments are all scheduled now. They are always the first week of the month. He will be done with them the first week of November. Then he will have the MRD test that will tell us if he has any hidden cells. If he doesn’t have hidden cells then they plan on putting him in a clinical trial which could mean he will still end up with the stem cell transplant. We do know that route will put him in remission longer. God only knows what the future holds and at this point we are not worried about it. The Lord has protected him each month from the horrible side effects of the chemo. Even when his blood counts were so low he could have come down with a bad infection. But the Lord God protected him from that. Robin told us that John is a strong man and she said that he is a delightful man as well. What wonderful encouragement we get at the Mayo Clinic. Everyone is so nice and helpful. When John got his blood work at our local hospital here they always faxed the results to our team at Mayo. Nurse Valerie would call John after seeing his results and tell him what he should do and would give orders to Mercy Hospital here. So we give praise and glory to our wonderful Jesus who has got through these 5 months. We truly appreciate all your prayers in John’s behalf. My prayers continue for your husband too. I hope he is doing well. Thank you for this wonderful video. You always bring joy to my heart with your delightful projects. I need to catch up again. This week has gone by in a flash and it has been busy for us since we got back. Take care my friend. Love and hugs from Iowa! Marla

Your tag projects continue to be creative and interesting, Kathy! I so enjoy sunflowers and bees in any and all combinations. About a year ago, I tried, then adopted, your straight edge tape tearing technique...definitely moves faster, and is less fiddley (is that a word?) than using a small set of scissors. Now that you've been using that wet glue gun device for a while, have you formed an opinion? I know I don't have room to add a larger piece of equipment to my table top...just curious. Has that slow moving leftover hurrican hit your area? PacNW is sunny and back to low 90s. I'm ready for Fall to begin!
