I worked at ANC back in 1968. I always remembered the lake with the float planes "docked" around the shores. As you would expect alot of changes since then.

I love seeing these older planes that are still to this day the best for that type of flying and still being maintained and used for what they were meant for..

And this is why you shouldn't let the bell helicopters mate with Cessna planes.

Really didn't see anything of real interest other than a plane with the engine above the cock pit. Need to see it fly. It looks like it could do a short take-off, but I could be wrong, it looks like it could do a short landing, but I could be wrong. Looks like a cool airplane, but I could be wrong.

it’s a new plane, with side-by-side seating, as Backcountry Pilot mentioned in the Doubleender video from 8 years ago

Outstanding job! Well thought out and provided for. I've chosen a few different pieces of equipment that I wear in my vest. Experience is what you get when you get, when you didn't get what you really wanted. Thank you for the presentation.

Did you ever get round to doing the medical kit video, i noticed someone else asked further down the comments? Nice vest set up, I use a few different versions, RAF, Canadian and US for various tasks.

I used to fly with maps that were just blanks! Last I flew, I had good GPS that gave me the exact distance, direction and height but it was was so foggy that I could not see my own wing or the Otter's nose! So I could land totally blind but at the right place. Imagine, you slowed down and suddenly, you landed, then go forward very slowly until I see a beach, then turn the plane around to back up to that beach! I had two GPS, one was my portable one, in case the other one shut down!

The reference to helicopters is well-taken. Reminds me of the scene in Illusions where the main character drops his aircraft into a too-short field by "hanging in the air" above it and dropping like a hawk. 'Course that guy was magic; he could wangle the laws of physics. This plane's for normal people. Incredible take-offs and landings from unreal surfaces -- and flights through breathtakingly narrow air lanes.
