I must say when you started cutting and drilling holes in that bowl I was nervous, but you pulled it out, brother very cool. I’m glad to see your turning again. A great yarn bowl! I do a lot knitting and crocheting and have pondered about some kind of container for my yarn while working. Having cats around yarn isn’t the best combo 😂 But to save the yarn from the cats I would need a lid on the bowl/container. I am sure you could make yarn containers to sell. All knitting people talk about how to keep the yarn in one place while working on it. And I know tons of knitters who have cats as well. You just don’t want to wake up in the morning to find your living room looking like a spider web from your cats having fun with the yarn all night long 😹

I was expecting you to turn it the other way. Have the "open mouth" where the two branches joined. It would have made a larger bowl. So many of the "Birds Mouth" bowls always end up being small bowls.

Absolutely love the bottom of that bowl! I honestly prefer that live edge, natural style than if you had been able to keep it from floating. Was very glad to see you kept it! While a shame to cut into that bowl, it was made for a specific purpose so completely made sense, as hard as it was to watch.

There is nothing at all wrong with you Doug... You do Projects like this because you have a VERY strong sense of Self Preservation and REALLY don't want to Piss Off the Missus when she has MANY miscellaneous long, sharp pointy things (knives, forks, knitting needles etc.) and/or LOTS of heavy Blunt Objects (hammers, rolling pins, frying pans etc.) in easy reach in fear she'll introduce those Implements of Devastation to various parts of your body... After all, when the Wife tells you to build something, the ONLY acceptable response is: How Big, What Colour, What Style and How Many do you want Dear? 😄😁😆😅😂🤣
