Looking at Barry. I think this was a week or so before he left us...

I’m certain that Eric could play with anyone and even after 43 years after playing this same song with Duane is so eloquent and bad ass! Also Derek and the dominoes never got the national attention they should’ve received but look here we are in 2024 minus all the ABB except Jaimo …stay peaceful my fellow music expeditionary brothers! Thanks to the uploader and of course KZfaq!

Gotta love these "warts and all" performances. Seems so genuine and true to who Gregg is. I could watch it over and over several times and not get tired of it!

When I was growing up in the 1970's, I wanted long hair like Gregg Allman. I was super liberal and looked up to my hippy Uncle. Nobody does this hair now, but it would be cool if some cool kids were doing this music. I want to teach children how to play rock and roll music like this. You can put together 10 kids and do this online. Make a new wrecking crew. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 It looks like the Allman's picked up some of the wrecking crew from the studio back then. Some of these guys, I don't know them. They sound unbelievable.

That double piano was unbelievable. Who is that piano player across from Gregg? These guys used to jam with everyone so I'd not be surprised if the piano player from the Grateful Dead or Little Feat was here with Gregg Allman. He jams, like all hell broke loose.

Dickie Betts said it was a big strain on him to have to play Duane's slide parts when Duane died. He was use to playing acoustic slide but not electric slide, but knew he'd have to do it for the group. He did and obviously excelled at it. Can only imagine what other things they'd have accomplished if Duane had lived to old age.

This was their magnum opus, absolutely. Several generations ahead will think of it this way. I feel so lucky I saw them at least once live.

Dickey was in top form in 1980 when I saw them in Jacksonville. Greg was sort of high man.

Glad the Allman Brothers band was actual full of brothers. All men up there jamming. And to my black brothers that are here, this song is NOT a mockery of the aspect of being whipped as a slave, but just a direct analogy/correlation to severe and unbearable pain inflicted by another human to another(in this case a woman).

Two things damn good the guitar, and damn good piano playing by Gregg Allman. I would have liked to have hear that slide guitar though.

Glad to see footage of the band when Lamar Williams was the bass player. When he came aboard during the last part of 1972 (after Berry passed), he immediately exchanged Berry's lead bass guitar style for a concise in the pocket bass guitar style. RIP Lamar...

IOne of my greatest trips on mushrooms was laying on my couch with my eyes closed to this song. I was front row watching this jam. My absolute favorite song of all time.

Duane Allman was sent from the heavens to play the guitar and inspire others to play and/or appreciate music.

Duane’s sole purpose on the planet was to play the guitar. God gave us all a gift with Duane’s music.

My mom has owned this record since approx 1978 (her best guess). We recently sat down and smoked a bowl and I showed her this video. 45 years of knowing the song and THEN seeing what it looked like blew her away. It's AMAZING how cool some things are in 2024.
