One great resource that I used is Butheaus Physical therapy on KZfaq there is also a UK KZfaq channel that has a lot of exercises for synkinesis and Bell’s palsy… I will see if I can find the name of it.

Hey ! Im in my 8th month of bells , i have similar symptoms as like synkinesis and dropping of corner of my mouth …. I wanted to know about your botox treatment how has it been & is it worth it ?
@bethanymarie80Ай бұрын
It was definitely worth it because it was such a relief to relax my face!! It had gotten so tight and pulled like crazy. after the wore off, some tightening did come back. Not as bad though! And because of the Botox, my eye learned to blink without the synkenesis (well, almost completely got rid of it… it’s still a little bit there but not as noticeable).

I sure hope it works good for you if you do it! Please let me know.

Hi there, were you put on Prednisone or any other type of steroids, and a antiviral medicine, oral? Those are extremely crucial for a quicker recovery from what my doctor told me when i got this last July. I recovered within about a month, i think the only thing that's different after almost a year is my smile is a little off but only i notice it.

Don't lose hope, I've got bells palsy like 17 months ago and im still recovering. I've went to 5 different doctors (neurologist and other specialties) and no one ever said a specific cause of my situation or give some knowledge on what to do, they told me "we already did everything with the meds, just wait". It's really frustrating that they really don't understand the stress of having this condition (physically and mentally). My improvement started on the fifth month after 8 sessions with an electrode therapy on my face. Now I've recovered my face movements like 85% and i'm trying to solve a secondary symptom of a long bells palsy recovery called "synkinesis". I was on the same boat as you but the improvements just came naturally. Stay strong!

Please does this create a tight seal? I need my lash line to be completely sealed all along to sleep i cant have a tiny gap at all or my brain knows my eye is not closed and i cant sleep. I am 2 months BP complete paralysis right side 70% eye close less later in day not good blink. Deep set eyes tape lifts off because my eyes are so sunken in and deep it cant grip without pulling my eyelid up like a tent.

It does as long as I am laying down and closing the unaffected eye. If I am walking around and my other eye is open, my affected eye works very hard to open underneath. But it forms a surprisingly tight seal that lasts all night long for me!
