Me and mom always say it's a shame no one thought to have Madeline Kahn and Jeffrey Osborne record this song together. Like THAT VERY DAY! I like so many others rewatch that one part over and over - it's beautiful.

They always had Clair’s role as a way to belittle and dominate Cliff. Maybe in one or two episodes out of the entire sitcom, cliff actually exhibited an alpha presence, but other than those few times, his role was that of a submissive husband. Let a female singer serenade cliff in a way to “woo” him while Clair is present and I bet the female audience would have an issue and an uncomfortable feeling about that message being sent out. And this was supposedly thought to be one of the best black role models family tv shows of all times? Not! Model for feminist and weak blinded men, but not for a balanced family. Don’t be fooled by their success and the soft storylines within the show. That’s just the cover. The real message being sent is subliminal and negative to counter divine order within a black household.
