Changing the I-95 Carrying Drawbridge into a High-Level Bridge was Honestly One of Florida's Biggest Mistakes that They could ever do. It is because the Old Bridge Looked so Nostalgic and Unique because Drawbridges Usually Don't Carry Interstates like I-95. Florida Needs to Build More Drawbridges like These.

i remember fishing off that bridge a few times in the late 70’s. There was a Bahama Joe’s restaurant at the base of the mainland side that my folks used to like to take us too. Vero was an awesome town to grow up in.

Traffic back then was much lighter. Now it's a circus. 90s Miami was much better.

You should do a video of the Wrightsville beach drawbridge again sometime because it’s changed a lot compared to when you took that video back then

Sad. I lived off Pace. Was raised off a dirt road on globe in the 80’s. So many Yankees moved there now it’s so populated

Actually, the old bridge was built in 1956, not 1958.

I actually remember this. I was at someone else's house for Christmas eve and NBC actually noted a contingency plan with the late games (which I believe were your Dolphins in St Louis, and Broncos-Raiders). If i remember right, Greg Gumbel who was in the New York studio said that if the Chiefs won, we'd see Broncos-Raiders, but *if Seattle won then the entire network (expect for Denver and the Bay Area) would see Dolphins-Rams* so, it was a lot of flipping between SEA/KC and PIT/GB in that first window to make sure we'd see DEN/OAK. (They had Sunday Ticket on C-band, so that's how i saw SEA/KC). I had seen SD/NYG (a.k.a. The Snowball Game) and NE/IND at my own house on Saturday and we left early in the morning before the pregame stuff started. If the Seahawks had won, that would have meant rather than Dick Enberg, Paul Maguire and Phil Simms doing the feature game it would have been Dan Hicks and Bob Trumpy instead. If the Eagles had beaten the Bears on Fox, then Dolphins/Rams would have been a "Winner Take All" game too.

Wow. I remember it was only two lanes back when I was in High School. Lucky I was closer to Babcock. I moved when construction started. Visited years later and was so surprised on how they widened it.

When they F...I....N...A....L....L....Y....build the new Cape Fear Skyway, the Memorial Bridge will be a little less busy. But building a massive cable stayed bridge downriver will be extremely expensive. And we probably won't see it for many years to come.
