As in all sports speed kills. They didn’t ban F1 because drivers got killed. As you see so often, a race horse that loses its jockey doesn’t stop and walk home. They carry on racing. It’s in their blood and they live for it.

Man kann den Rennsport nicht einfach so verbieten. Weltweit gibt es ca. 100,000 aktive Vollblutrennpferde. Dazu kommen noch die ganzen anderen Rassen (American Quarter Horses, Araber, Traber, etc.) und mehrere hunderttausend Ex-Rennpferde, die zum Beispiel durch die Zucht oder durch sogenanntes "ponying" noch zu dem Sport beitragen. Für so viele Pferde kann man nicht einfach plötzlich ein neues (und gutes) Zuhause finden. Die meisten werden wohl mit der Zeit beim Schlachter landen. Dazu wird so ein Verbot auch enorme wirtschaftliche Folgen haben, was das Ganze noch einmal erschweren wird. Alleine in New York hat der Pferderennsport jährlich einen wirtschaftlichen Einfluss von über 3 Milliarden USD. Weltweit werden Millionen von Menschen ihre Arbeit verlieren, und dazu zählen nicht nur die Trainer und Jockeys. Sicher läuft nicht immer alles perfekt, aber mit einem Verbot wird kaum einem Pferd geholfen sein. Auch nicht denen, die es wirklich brauchen. Eine Reform ist die bessere Lösung.

@@rimo1267 ich sagte ja... Tiere werden gequält für die Bespaßung der Menschen und um deren Taschen mit Geld zu füllen!!! Wenn Tiere im Zirkus verschwinden, oder Delphinarien abgeschafft werden verlieren dabei auch Menschen ihre Arbeitsplätze. Das geschieht aber nicht von heute auf morgen und die Welt ist immer im Wandel und es wird Zeit, dass die Ausbeutung und dadurch verursachte Quälereien ein Ende nehmen. Den Fortschritt und Wandel kann man nicht aufhalten. Und wir sollten aufhören uns über die Tiere zu stellen!

Banning horse racing will result in thousands of horses ending up in slaughterhouses; far more than right now because they can't retire controlled anymore. The economy will most likely collapse and nobody will be able to take them anymore. The sport needs a reform, but banning it will do more damage than good.

I think the rules should be, if you want to race, then you accept that if your horse falls and breaks a leg and has to be put down, so should the owner and the jockey of the horse be killed too. See how many races go ahead then.

It’s sad to see some horses run to exhaustion and having heart attacks and let’s be honest most of these races only happen because of the huge betting markets , if it wasn’t for the betting 90% of these races wouldn’t happen.

@@monikafurrer4982 he didn’t at first, but then looked over and saw the horse wasn’t moving and was a bit worried and took off the tack to comfort the horse for if it was going to be euthanized.
