I have the set of 5 faber Castel brushes and I love them. Have been using them all the time for over a year now and look exactly the same. I WISH someone would start selling extra caps for all different types! Lol I go into a panic when I can't find one lol

I saw a tip for opening ink box lids. Stand the box so the side to be opened is top, slide a blade of a knife/pallet knife underneath the box lid next to the flap the full length so you see it's tip the other side, then lift vertically with a little jolt. Because the pressure is applied evenly it pops open rather than tears the lid.

Okay so…were I in your shoes, I would be *so* tempted to pre-record like 10 minutes straight of swishing a brush in water and then play it as the only sound in the background of the next dozen or so videos you make 😂. It’s amazing that people find things to complain about when you are giving away your knowledge and experience for free in your videos. To me, the appropriate response when someone is being generous is to be appreciative. Thank you for yet another awesome video showcasing a really cool art supply!

I have a wooden palette that came with my tabletop easel but work only in watercolors and cheap water-based acrylics and wooden you can only use with oil lol. so I got a plastic palette in a watercolor set and works fine or a plastic takeout lid

Tip- for watercolor palettes I use plain white ceramic (food) platters they tend to be cheaper and you can find an assortment of sizes. I use plain white ceramic dessert or dinner plates from the dollar store you can even use the clear plates or clear candle holders as smaller palettes. Great video 😊.

I love doing this, it helps set the pages for when I’m having a bit of artist block. Great idea!

Having had a stroke 5 years ago, that wood palette would work great with my situation. Thanks for giving me the great idea.💕

I have them in 96...they are rich, but understated, bright, but not garish...like dusty summer flowers. That's the way I describe them❤.

Qor are possibly the most vibrant watercolors out there due to their different binder -- if you're after that look. Personally, I do watercolors that are a bit more atmospheric and vintage looking, so they never come out right with qor, or m.graham for that matter (both are too vibrant). My style looks better with handmade watercolors in fact, or Primatek, or Schmincke's supergranulating ones. Basically, anything that has texture and haziness.

Hello, I find myself reaching for olive green too! Thank you for your sincerity. Yes, everything has become ridiculously expensive these days, so I brought out my Crayola crayons. I needed something to destress with and that wasn’t so pricey. I thought of giving Crayola crayons a try again since I found that people still make lovely art with them. I’m in my 50’s and I remember when I was a child that Crayola crayons were more pigmented and less waxy than they are today. I was able to layer and blend them without much effort. Now because of the waxiness of the crayons I have to work a little harder or spend hours shading until my arm falls off. I didn't want to shade for hours so I used color pencil techniques with them, or I used a crafting heat gun like you do for encaustics. Solvents helped too. I also buffed the crayons to blend them which gave my artwork a gloss finish. I didn't mind the shine, that was a plus. Using Crayola crayons was relaxing and very nostalgic but a whole lot of work. I want to use a smoother wax-based crayon that has more pigment, less work and more fun. So, I started researching Neocolor 1 artist pastels to see if it’s worth the purchase. I own an old 15ct set of the water soluble Neocolor 2 artist pastels but only used them on panels with wet mediums, inks and acrylics. My thought is to use Neocolor 2 as a dry medium. From your experience does Neocolor 2 work the same dry as Neocolor 1? Or would purchasing Neocolor 1 artist pastels be better? Thank you so much, I enjoyed your video! 😊

Your swatches always get bigger as you progress, you sweet muppet 😅❤ That very last pink looks a bit out of place, but then again, I'm a muted colours kind of girl .. the last row on sheet one and all on sheet two, apart from that last pink: gorgeous.
