Lmao I so have been doing the Barani the wrong way. Came for the double twist video, but I guess I'll be fixing my Barani first now haha. Also, way late, but if you want to do what that guy did at 7:14, you'll have to make sure your butt hitts the trampoline first and hard, so it launches you in a backward rotation. The secret is that it's really not a back landing. Unless you use fancy leg movement like he did.

The skill here in NZ when you are in the middle of learning a barani, is called a crash dive..... when you go straight up, and land on your shoulders, before the half twist to your back. Is it called different elsewhere? Or does saying crash dive sound scary so you didn't say it?? I did both gymnastics then trampolining from young. Like 4years old...

Ive been trying to figure out the best position for the arms while twising, in competition (for trampoline at least) its preferred down by your side but generally I see people fold their arms in when doing fast twists. I'd assume arms straight down would be a straighter shape and twist faster, but perhaps it's better to fold your arms by your chest to maximise the big-small shape change

Brilliant video. I did think it was a round off in my mind. Would be interesting to see or hear how Barani (i assume it is the name of the aerialist who ‘discovered’ the move) came across it. Was it a mistake or 💡during a physics class after a trampoline session?!!)

I‘be been trying to learn the Barani for months (off a trampoline into a crash mat). I stick a front tuck all the time, but I am confused on which way I should be twisting and when. I get lost in the air and then am afraid to try again because for some reason, I’m not able to see the ground when I’m rotating (which I know is terrible, but I want to learn this badly). I do my round offs/cartwheels leading with my right foot if that helps. Anymore specific tips would be greatly appreciated. You have a great tutorial, but I wish I could see some results. Thanks!

When doing a front tuck barani and straight into a back tuck somersault in the same bounce, is the rule still the same of twisting after the first somersault with the kick out or can you start twisting in the first somersault as soon as you start the bounce? Let me know if you dont understand what i mean

Sad isn't it. People want the quick fix, how to do it and just survive in a 3 step break down. Not many people want to learn how to properly do things unfortunately. But hopefully those people find this video :)

I just wanted to say I'm a gymnastics and parkour coach and I use your videos almost daily to help teach these skills! They're by far the best instructional videos I've found so far! I really appreciate the progressions and concise explanations. Thanks for making such great videos and I'm hoping to see more in the future! (If I could make a request I'd love to see a video on the backflip/back handspring)

I'd be happy to make one, but I would need access to a gym and equipment to show a variety of drills, that's my only barrier. Much easier to get trampoline access. I'll put it on my to-do list for the future. Happy to answer any questions through in the mean time of back flips

@@aerialskier That's the same problem I've found with other tramp or gymnastics teachers. Corks are generally seen as bad form, I guess. Thanks for the reply and love your work. Its helped a lot for non-cork stuff! LOL.

I dont know how to understand which side i twist
@aerialskier
@aerialskier 2 жыл бұрын
send me a video and I'll tell you. But basically, whichever side your turn to face first as the twist starts, is the "direction" that you twist.
@aerialskier
@aerialskier 2 жыл бұрын
If you don't know which way you should go, you can pick one and just learn it properly. If you can already do a barani (front half), then I would recommend you pick the same direction to make your life easy.

Can you do a video on spotting for flips? Like what athlete’s should expect to look at and look for. Arabians especially
@aerialskier
@aerialskier 2 жыл бұрын
Sabacca drill (7:20 in the video) is the exact drill you want for arabians, just pulling into a tuck and bringing it the the feet. Vision on take-off is neutral to ensure no pre-turn and then once off the ground, spot behind as the body rotates to be squared off with the floor.

This is a great tutorial. Former Parallel Bars and High Bar U.S. National champion who learned almost everything from having a Nissen 4x8 tramp in my back yard from age 4 to 19. I've given lectures on twisting direction and how round-off and flipping-twisting are not what people think they should be. Physics is your friend if you don't want to continually land on your head because you get lost in the air. I know this is a 6 year old video, but it's timeless and I'm glad you made it.
