the way to "know oneself" is to recognize one's faults so as to put the striving individual in check of knowing where one stands among peers... it is way too easy to overestimate strengths but always working on your weaknesses makes you stronger by default.... so recognizing past lives is the same reflection on one's mistakes but on a much grander scale usually dealing with a personality's strong faults, weaknesses, habits, etc. that also have existed throughout or in cycles of history... because as history repeats itself so do the faults of the human beings... humans leave an era once the majority overcome personal difficulties perplexing a society and move on to new problems... like currently AI which was not a problem to humans of prior generations BUT dependence and domination by a central authority has existed the same....

This was one of my mom's most fave movies, so she passed it on to us, her daughters. So, it's a very special movie, not.just for the spiritual message but also, the family meaning for us. R.I.P momma..Jan 27, 2021

I watched this movie over 35 yrs ago. I had it on Beta, (Whew!) bought the book. She changed my life. My father was in the hospital and she talked about being blessed to be present at her dad's transition. My father did pass unfortunately I was not present and that made me sad. She is an inspiration. I knew I would see my father again and this was not the end. I'm going to enjoy this.again, as well.

I remember watching it in 1986, my mom recorded it for me, both parts 1 & 2. My mom just passed. I watch this every 10 year's or so. God bless you Shirley McLaine. Great book & movie.
