Set your draft control to high and it will keep the plow from going too deep.

Yetter still makes the same 71 row units if you ever need parts

Never been around a plate planter before and came here to learn about one. Thanks for creating this video. It was super helpful.

This motor pump can not only pump water. You can deepen the reservoir by pumping out dirt from the bottom. You need to use the Bagermaster suction nozzle. Then you will be able to pump a mixture of water with dirt, sand, and stones.

I'm an old-school type of farmer like prehistoric lol, I've only ever marked a field with a shovel cultivator/ corrugation row marker, and hand-planted seeds. I've never used one of these before, how do you irrigate? I use gated pipe with a 30-inch spacing, and I don't have access to a sprinkler system. I recently bought a two-planter setup with the JD 71, but not sure how I would go about setting up corrugation. maybe somebody here might have some advice? Thanks! it's a small plot, less than 8 acres.

Corrugation? Like a furrow for the water to follow?? Add a shank to the toolbar between the row units with a sweep to cut a furrow... you can get "buzzard wing" sweeps or if you look around can probably find add-on "ears" that bolt between the sweep and shank-- I put them on all the back sweeps of my old row crop cultivator to throw the soil up back toward the top of the beds when we were row cropping, since we farmed on beds, and I liked to keep the beds formed up during the season plus the additional dirt thrown by the winged sweeps with ears would bury any weed seedlings or anything that didn't get completely cut out by the sweeps...

Try getting a harrow and attach by chains behind your cultivator 😎

Mark, what plate do you use for the sweet corn ??

@@bigfivetractorworks3492 Thats a hard question , because each seed variety is different . You just have a variety of plates and try and match them to the seed size .
