Do you have a video on how to make a patch

When I tried this, the tack down stitch is right at the outside edge of the satin stitch. I can't cut the fabric close enough so that the satin stitch covers up the raw edge. Is there a way or a setting that puts the tack down stitch in more towards the middle of satin stitch?

I get out Jack the Ripper and pull those stitches out. Fix the machine and stitch it again. I love the yellow and blue 💛💙
