Thank you for the comment! You may be over trimming your motor into the Transom Saver. You should not be trimming it so that its putting stress on the boat. Just enough to make it snug and a bit of tension to hold it into place.

Ya, generally, boats that are under 16 ft are tight with a side console. This is a dual console, so there is even less space to move around in. There is a reason why tiller boats are more popular anomg the tournament anglers, as it is more versatile. You have plenty of room to move around in. Also, you can't troll with a side console unless you use a 9.9 kicker engine, but you have to ensure that you don't exceed the maximum weight capacity of the boat, outlined on the compliance notice. The reality is, my lund 1600 fury, tiller, has tons of space. I can use the tiller with one hand and hold my rod in the other. You can't do this with a side or dual console. These boats are made for casting and jigging mainly. But as we know, according to Buck Perry, the most famous fisherman around, who invented structure fishing, 90% of your time shoulld be trolling and 90% of the catch should be on the cast or jig while anchored. There is a reason for this. It takes much less time to cover water when trolling, pragmatically speaking. However, I'd like to mention that tiller boats are harder to maneuver in rough water because the arm can get sore. If you go out in the great lakes, I highly recommend a side or dual console with 115 hp minimum. It's also more family friendly due to.its comfort. You also have gauges in front of you to see everything. However, mercury has evolved its tiller models to make it easier for boaters to recognize fuel levels and warnings as well. Lastly, side and dual consoles are a great choice if you do lots of other things with the boat like tubing and water skiing. It allows the weight to be distributed more equally so that the boat gets on the plane easier.
