DEMBOW beat ! not rgton
@Reaper_Queen_Music25 күн бұрын
I used to work with women from mexico, the dominican republic, and colobmia. They played music with this beat (1 a 2 +) and they described it to me a reggaeton.
On the lyrics. I have heard this album around 100 times now, I still only know the easier to understand lyrics😅. So basically a word here or there. But I feel like I could play the drum parts by now 😁. In the past, lyrics were the most important part for me. Nowadays I don´t even bother to read them anymore. The vocals are just like another instrument and I also don´t question which notes the guitarists and bassist are playing.
@Reaper_Queen_MusicАй бұрын
Sometimes I hyper fixate on different instruments. Since I'm a drummer and Vocalist I'm inclined to pay attention to those, and I like learning lyrics just to sing/scream along but I get what you're saying haha
@WollestarАй бұрын
@Reaper_Queen_Music yeah, I try to play the drums as well, but not very long as of yet. That is probably why I focus on them a lot, too. But I just noticed I should have added that I understand the drummer of Knocked Loose, not knowing the lyrics 😁.

Why are these way overly dramatic singers a thing in metalcore now? Your dads are all laughing at you bc you’re all into heavier versions of freddie mercury with more makeup and less talent. Knocked loose is cool… more of that and less sleep token and falling in reverse. Cringe

We saw them live almost a week ago. It was insane. They've refined their live sound so much. I heard later that there was a mosh pit on the upper balcony at the venue, which is kind of hilarious because it's basically just seats lol. "I never gave a fuck." Followed by the crunchy riff in Don't Reach for Me gets me every time. It's probably my favorite song and Blinding Faith. I think I recall in an interview with Isaac that they're like, layering the guitars in a way to create that "hell tone" they call it. It's so cool what we can do with technology now. I love this album so much. I want to see them live again. Also they're undeniably influenced a bit by Gojira. The pick scrapes, that outro of Sit and Mourn and the outro of The Calm that Keeps me Awake (Explosia like)
@Reaper_Queen_Music2 ай бұрын
I love the idea of a mosh pit in the top of the venue hahaa that's just how hardcore they are. Also I feel the same about way but about that 3:4 poly rhythm riff in Blinding Faith, absolutley makes me want to me mosh

@Reaper_Queen_Music Oh, no worries. I just think it's because the mixing on this record makes every song sound similar. Outside of the singles, sit and mourn is the only stand-out track. A Different Shade of Blue and A Tear in the fabric of life had amazing atmosphere and memorable riffs. If you listen to those records in full then hear the new one, it feels like they spent more time on the older songs. I think they went a little too experimental for my taste on this newer record. I also feel like they tried too hard to go viral rather than write a cohesive front to back album if that makes sense? I was kinda hoping their new release was more in line with the "upon loss" singles as well. Those 2 songs are better than their whole new album. Regardless, its doing great numbers, so I'm happy for them.

I got to watch Aveneged Sevenfold Live, they performed SO well, and it was amazing. I got to hear the stage, Nobody, Roman Sky, Blinded in Chains, Save Me, Hail to the King, Shepherd of Fire, Mattel, Bat country, Nightmare, Unholy Confessions, We love you, and Game Over i cant remember if Game oVer was llayed for sure but i remember the rest clear as day. It was Indianapolis where i got to dee them live, with PIT TICKETS. I actually moshed for We love you, Shelherd of Fire, and Afterlife. It was amazing. The vocals were killer and on point, the playing was spot on and they had it tuned perfectly. And the whole crowd SANG EVERYONE not one person i think didnt sing at least once and it was so good. I cant praise their live performances any higher, it was THAT good, although their chocie for Tourinf partners was odd Poppy was straight up wierd, Sullivan king was cool but not on the level of Avenged Sevenfold.

almost a year on and I still feel alone in liking the album. I felt it was a masterpiece from my own experience yet it feels like every single critic, casual fan or even self proclaimed A7X fans who dislike it or even hate it, rating it a 1/10 and such. I get that it's not a casual person's listen but surely critics and fans understand the purpose of the album and their discography.. only HTTK was one album that wasn't pushing boundaries from them at the time of release (from what I know). this album is so much better when you stop judging the uniqueness and think that literally every detail is intentional. longwinded rant 8 months after it was posted but thank you for this.

That was fun to watch, wish I made it to this video sooner. You've basically covered all the lyrical self-references, the only thing I'd like to add is that the topic of 'too close/too late' is present in every single song on the EP while others only appear occasionally (velvet sky, crimson key, thousand lifetimes, hourglass, etc). Another fun thing to note is the moment in the second pre-chorus in Ultraviolet where Courtney sings about seeing the shining of the reflection of the crimson key, and when she turns towards the camera we can see an open door to the right with a bright red light shining through it. The open door itself could also be a reference to Too Close/Too Late. Overall, Ultraviolet might be one of the most beautiful metal songs ever written, and there's so much going on in it, both musically and vocally. It sounds like there's a million vocal layers in the chorus, and coming up and recording all these parts must've taken a shitload of time lol Love this band so much ❤
@Reaper_Queen_Music5 ай бұрын
Yo thank you for the comment! I'm gonna be listening for too close too late now haha the detail about the red door is insane, thats the kinda shit i love haha
