What does God's word say about women teaching? Maybe you should read up on that. 1 Timothy 2:12 You can also reference the qualifications of a pastor, and elders of the church in 1 Timothy 3 as well. There isn't a "she " anywhere in scripture as per the qualifications to teach or lead

I don't know if you intended to open up with mockery (Isaiah 28:22), only to assert that it is someone else that should read the Scripture, but it does seem that way in how it's framed. I pray that it isn't so - that we may reason together. Then again, if you are a mocker, you will not accept my words, and I'm about to suffer your hate (Proverbs 9:8). I also don't know your age, but if it is younger than whoever it was that you were speaking to, perhaps 1 Timothy 5:1-2 is in order; that said, regardless of your age, you can bring forth scripture to argue for a better way. My only issue with it is that it is framed as rebuke. As to your last sentence, I'll refer you instead to Proverbs 31. In fact, for the entire passage of Timothy, I'll send you back to compare to Proverbs 31 (obviously verses 10 and onward). See, Proverbs 31 has a laundry list of what makes a Godly woman, and is a good one, but I feel certain that you can perceive that it speaks directly to a culture and a time and place that is not our own, nor is it the apostle Paul's (he may be a Jew, but he is hundreds of years and miles removed from Jerusalem at the time of writing letters to Timothy). It certainly doesn't describe a woman who remains silent, has no expensive clothing (directly countermanded, in fact, in several verses - even describing her in scarlet and purple), and has nothing to instruct others with in the Law (again, countermanded in verse 26). (Jury's out on whether or not she braids her hair, wears gold, or has pearls. This is a tongue-in-cheek statement, but not intended as mockery; I clarify because tone is hard on the internet and nuance can be lost in any sort of attempt at communication.) But I also expect that you would not say (as I also would not say) that Paul negates or repudiates Proverbs 31. How then can we reconcile this? Perhaps "Old Testament" vs. "New Testament" but that hardly seems to compare with "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." - which could be very difficult to parse with both of the above, and is a part of Scripture. But I would suggest, instead, that Paul was laying out guidelines to Timothy for the good of us all that help understand how to engage with the world at large in the cultural context, both directly that of the time, but also in general but in a more indirect way. At the time, women were not respected. It was seen as a sign of disorder for them to speak out, and the prominence and freedom brought to women by Christianity was a point of rebuke from the outside world. What's more, Timothy's church in particular was currently being rocked with false teachers and needed to have its ship righted. 1 Corinthians 14:40 - "Let all things be done decently and in order." In the same way that we don't have our widows wash everyone's feet (1 Timothy 4:10; an act that would be profoundly uncomfortable and cause significant disorder for many), we need to take the understanding of how to apply our instruction what is good and would be seen and understood well by our current culture in a way that allows the scripture - the message of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ - to get to them without compromising its integrity. Again, Paul wrote that there was no slave or free, Jew or Greek, male or female - but directly tied people to their roles and elements in society as it was at the time. He told slaves to obey their masters. Does this mean that slavery is good? No; far from it. (Outside, of course, of our own bond to the Holy Spirit.) But what it tells us is that Paul (and the Bible) is not seeking to destroy the society it is in, but rather to change it by being good members and graceful people within it. Yes, we do not conform to the world, but we must comport ourselves in good ways that are just and honorable - we need to speak the message to the people so that they hear it. And, remember, the exact verse you're citing is Paul talking of his own style of action; 1 Timothy 2:12 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." Hm. "I suffer not-" ... that's a interesting turn of phrase. Perhaps you don't like the KJV (many don't) so you'd prefer a different interpretation, "But I do not allow a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet." Huh. "I do not allow-" ... not "they are not allowed at all," but "*I* do not allow-" ... that is a very interesting distinction. It very much so brings to mind 1 Corinthians 7:6 "But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment." In this place and this sermon, Linda Cummins has: - spoken the Law of kindness - described submission in love to her husband (in how they differ in expectations) - shown wisdom - done so decently and in order - distinctly not usurped position, but has been raised up in praise by her husband (and children, albeit neither were on stage) In general she works hard and is strong. She brings glory to her husband in the community. She speaks the Scripture to back up her words. She does well by her house and her friends. It may well be that you are unwilling or unable to hear this. I understand that. I've been there. Probably still am in some ways. We are all sinners who need to be reconciled to Christ, for it is through Him and Him alone - His sacrifice - that we are made whole and free, saved from hell. But what happened here today is not antithetical to the scriptures. Nor was it wrong that Deborah is praised in scripture (even she was surprised by this and hesitant to accept it). Nor that Anna declared the Lord when he arrived. Nor any other event in which women have brought forth the word of God. Nor was it shameful that David danced before the LORD, nor eating the shewbread. Nor the disciples eating grain on the Sabbath. I do understand why it is hard to accept. But I am grateful for the message from our Lord that was given through Linda for us. Peace to you and may the Lord guide your heart. EDIT: hubris, my folly, hah! In writing, I miswrote the name of a Godly woman of scripture as a different one. I have now corrected this error. E2: and the new error by autocorrect from my own correction. 😂

This was an open, honest, and beautiful display of masculinity and vulnerability. “Please don’t let her see me this way.” is so real. I feel that. I’ve been that. But God does see us. And He knows us. And He feels us. And He loves us. I’m so glad Mark shared things we have been through. God bless you all. Peace. Joy. And whatever emotions come and go, I praise the Lord God, He Who created us in His image, and Who has loved us from the very beginning.

God isn't real stop pushing it onto others because there is no way that an all powerful god can do anything he wants and we suffer consequences also Jesus isn't real because there are myths about big foot that is more real than bro turning turning wine into water and coming back from the dead considering the bible has been made 3500 years ago so it had to of be changed

Love is also telling people the truth about sin. Too many churches are so caught up with showing love and not wanting to offend that they completely bypass that truth. As it says in Matt 7:22-23 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we. not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast. out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

It’s important to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The only reason the left hasn’t done away with it is because there too much money to be made at Christmas sales. Live a life that makes Him happy? Much better. It’s tough these days but one day at a time. 🇺🇸🫡
