Its not about mastering the skill. Its about trying again after something like that. Well done!

In the old days biking was so less specialized, but maybe a future opportunity for trials comps is more Enduro style trials event. Long trials sections on a mountain bike that still has dabs.

Love this stuff! This got me curious so I scrolled way way back in my KZfaq history to December 8, 2021 to maybe my earliest view of superridertv. Stupid me didn’t really start trying to learn Trials skills until last 2023.

Thanks for this guys! I wanted to chime in with my own experience with Super Rider. First off, I'm 48. I fell in love with trials when I bought Manifesto on a whim in a bike shop in Portland, Oregon in 2004. I never took up trials as I skateboarded and surfed. Last year I got back into cycling and bought a proper modern full suspension trail bike and a dirt jumper for the pump track. I still skate, surf, and ride motorcycles but I'd forgotten how much I loved riding trails. My local trails are really techy and I started revisiting Chris Akrigg videos to get some inspiration on how to better navigate my trails. Akrigg has by far been my favourite cyclist ever. Then I found Aaron's Super Rider channel. Now to the point, I ordered an Inspired Hex from Tarty Bikes last winter as the snow started falling where I live now in Canada. I spent some time improving track stands in the basement and to be honest I've barely used the Hex much. This week I took it out and rode alone for about 45 minutes. It's frustratingly hard going to a bike with such a steep head angle and feeling like such a beginner. I have a bit of buyer's remorse too because it's hard to learn new skills and the bike wasn't cheap. But I will keep going. Break it down to the minor movements and not worry about the big picture. Feeling the progression is why some of these sports like skateboarding are so fulfilling. I've definitely seen improvements in my trail riding with general bike control. Thanks Aaron for the tutorials and the trials specific videos! And thanks Shindig for the entertaining podcast.

I’m ten years older and less than a year into trials. It is harder being older and easy to regret not discovering trials earlier. Aaron has certainly helped improve all my riding and the trials bike has let achieve goals/learn skills that I might not have achieved in the mtb had it not been for learning them more easily first on trials bike.

Took hours to get out of bentonville this morning because of fallen trees from the tornado. Kept thinking Andrei would be riding one of them. Hope you guys are all safe. Also hope you will come back after this. We were in a camper a few miles east of bike fest and got hit directly by the tornado. I think the forrest saved us but trying to find gas and clear roads to get out of town was horrible. Safe travels and sorry the sky tries to kill us in this region.
