A lot of negative experiences mentioned on Reddit regarding durability / pricing.

Ever since we started Altra 15 years ago I have been amazed at the accomplishments of so many in Altra. This is easily top of the charts. Impressive!!

My lone peaks fit perfect. I wear a 13, but when I got the same size in the olympus 5 they were too small. Is this common between the 2 styles? I'm going to purchase the olympus and was wondering if I should get size 14.

What trainer do you make that is the most appropriate everyday basic walking trainer ?

I would say today's nutritional advice of no longer demonizing red meat and saturated fats have helped new generation of athletes be healthier and satiated. I don't even know how I managed to graduate HS on my low fat low protein high processed carb diet. It definitely tooks its toll on my body in college. I could no longer run in college.

Always nice to see how it all started. I wish this brand was still run by people like this. Unfortunately it's a part of a larger organisation (vfc, that also own TneNorthFace, Eastpak and Vans) now and boy does the customer service suck... Shoes are comfy and nice but they don't last very long and good luck trying to get a decent response from them. I can't even get replacement insoles... I was a fan of Altra's but after 4 pairs in less than 2 years, not sure if I'll buy another one...

I'm sorry, but these are the worst shoes I've ever had. Within half a year, I noticed the material wearing thin around the ankles and heels. After less than a year of use, they looked like old, decrepit shoes that were several years old. I assure you, I take really good care of my shoes, especially when I've paid more than $170 for them. I can wholeheartedly recommend Decathlon shoes instead. They may not look as visually appealing, but they certainly last much longer and they are 3x cheaper.

I've had it on 100 miles and it still hasn't broken. it looks like new. It should have arch support for those 30 mile days that start to tire your feet.

Just bought a pair after being a Hoka fan boy after many years, have also bought the Torin 7, had a couple of runs in them and really like the running shoe.

Don’t give Altra’s as gifts. I found out this is a terrible idea because they don’t do exchanges. Meaning if the gift receivers shoes don’t fit right and returns them the money goes back to the gift givers credit card. They then have to track the gift giver and ask for a new gift….brings back terrible memories of online buying in the early 2000s. No gift credit or exchange or anything. Found out my daughter never returned a pair that didn’t fit because of this and now hates the brand as a result. Our whole family runs and became a pretty big running joke of possibly the worst gift you can give someone. Imagine going back to someone and asking for them to buy you another pair because the first pair didn’t fit well. So embarrassing!!!!
