It might be the sliding method you're using. I've only ever noticed it on high stress hardwoods like you seemed to get the kick on. I've tried all the styles of cutting, and I don't see any point in the sliding little by little style. Thats the only time I've gotta serious kick cause you've got open play on the saw as you're cutting. It seems logical to me to just have the blade all the way back and thus supported, and just slowly go through it little by little all at once. Or you slide forward all the way, go through it, then slide it backward with the blade already through. I only tried this slide and shave thing a couple times before I was like.... nah I know how to use this thing properly... first saw I ever used and been using for like 75% of my life hehe
@ClinesCraftedWoodworking
@ClinesCraftedWoodworking Жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. Its actually out of habit for me as it is effective to reducing pressure in a bowed board and reduced the chance of your blade getting pinched. This one happened because i went 1 to many times and the piece was actually freed by the time i did the last cut and since it was a small piece it just give it a whirl. Cutting with the blade all the way back and straight down is great when the boards have been flattened but I wouldn't recommend it with a bowed board. If there is any gap between the board and the base of the saw and your using some kind of support on the ends you will absolutely pinch the blade.
