I am an American with no real understanding in 1973 or now of Mod culture or the milieu from which "Jimmy" sprang. (Hell I can barely follow the explanations of the Quadrophenia storyline in this documentary.) But I did not care when I bought Quadrophenia back then and I don't care now when I listen to it or look again at the photographs. It is truly a rock masterpiece, and this documentary is almost as great as the LP itself. Thanks for posting.

Isn't there irony which is rarely mentioned in The Who/Detours inspiring being a Mod band becoming a band by the early 70s that would be the epitomy of UK rockers?

Allegri non mi è mai piaciuto come allenatore, ma Adani mi sembra un po' il classico boomer o studentello di medicina da 20 anni in università che scrive su Facebook dando lezioni di medicina al premio nobel Luc Montagnier.

One of the greatest things my Parents have done getting me to watch the film in the 90's (appreciation of the actual album came later). It really spoke to me as somebody who was going through a lot of angst, anger and frustration (as any Teenager I guess) and it really did speak to me and helped me realise you dont need to be a part of anything or have to fit in with the crowd.

Mai piaciuto il gioco di Allegri. Detto questo Adani oggettivamente gli manca di rispetto dicendo che straparla, tradendo non poca invidia nei confronti di qualcuno che, a differenza sua, lavora come allenatore di club importanti e ha pure vinto. Tra i due, onestamente, non c’è paragone.

Il tempo ha dato ragione a Lele, la presunzione non porta lontano, Allegri è un allenatore bravo, ma non sempre si indovina la strategia, deve imparare a perdere, non le partite, ma il confronto con colleghi che fanno meglio di lui in termini di gioco più che di risultati, ancor di più se gli avversari hanno rose modeste se paragonate a quella della juventus

I like the Beatles, but I probably like The Who more. The Who are blood, sweat and tears, and you hear it in their music. Townshend is the perfect marriage of a high intellect who still knows the street and average working people and cared to reflect them. And the daring it takes to even attempt a 'concept' album and not have it come off contrived and overwrought is impressive. It's beyond ironic that Pete's 'failed' concept record 'Lifehouse' became Who's Next, one of the greatest rock albums of all time. How many bands want 'Who's Next' as their failed album? Quadrophenia is great because it's a direct processing of Townshend's own youth, so he was an expert on the topic, one of the oldest rules of writing long form. It's easy to forget Moon on this record, because the songs and concept are so effective, and Daltrey's vocals are beautiful, but the drumming (and bass) are simply ASTONISHING!
