I’ve just been in Porto, Portugal and the council there seem to have worked hard to maintain the old buildings (some seen hundreds of years old), with the old street patterns. It really creates a unique atmosphere to the place. They still have new businesses that come and go, like anywhere, but the atmosphere of the city is maintained. And that’s why people seem to love visiting there. Sheffield council could learn from that. It’s not stopping new things and developments, just managing them better for the city and its people.

The bus gate at the top of the moor has been there for years. Pre co-vid in fact. At least 10 years of not more. Most people would turn round where the at the next left turn.
