It's fascinating how the word deer came from the Old English word deor and yet deor referred to any wild beast while heorot, which is the Old English root of hart, was the word for a cervid, mostly the red hart. By red hart, I mean a red "deer" regardless of age or gender. By cervid, I mean a "deer." Do you think so?

Lovely job. What size is your cabin? How about a compost loo?

Thanks! The cabin is 5x5m. There is a composting toilet shed built in 2009 and still working well.

Very impressive job and well produced and informative video. Nice one. "That was a pheasant" made me jump as I'd assumed it was one in the garden here (full of the daft things at the moment).

Got to feel sorry for those trees. Imagine watching that thing coming for you, rooted to the spot. Run, little trees , run!
