The Mossy Earth folx might want to try teaming up with the Planet Wild folx on some projects that would be too big/much for either community to tackle by themselves. Planet Wild seems to be structured and funded in the same/similar way as Mossy Earth, so teaming up with them could possibly make integration an easier process & working together could feel more organic/symbiotic & cohesive than it would be with a group that differed in organizational structure or funding methodology in some way(s) which makes working on a project as a team with them a more difficult, complicated, and/or unpalatable prospect.

Rewilding! Love this !! I hope this catches on everywhere. Regenerative agriculture, reintroduction of keystone species, like beavers, bears, cougars, and bison. It's the best thing, seeing people restore wetlands, and restore hope.

Honestly, it’s better to have them then not have them deserts have been growing at an astonishing rate that can cause actual damage overtime if these plants even if their evasive is a small price to pay for the rest of your land, not being just a desert

It sounds like the government are doing f**k all. You need a ton of volunteers to work during the planting months. So you're reforesting, to reduce available farm land ??? That makes no sense.

As a Brazilian I find it interesting that you think this kind of river is rare, cuz all rivers used to be like this everywhere before people started building dams. Of course biodiversity changes in different areas

I was utmost upset to watch at something in the intro looking like digging in the rocky hills like in butter. the revelation around time 9min was a real blessing to me:-) I would like to recommend you, for the next time in similar conditions, to trow away the for this situation useless tools you had, and grab some pick axes. next I would like to argue that planting trees is not "just planting trees", if we do it right and plenty it is arguably the most important activity as it will then help get sorted/prevented at least 50% of other natural (and, socioeconomic as well by the way) issues kind of automatically. anyways, thank you so much to add some real value to the planet, bless you and may this thrive more and more

My first question would be; have reserves of indigenous and even endemic plants been established? Then reserves should provide and maintain healthy populations of not only flora, but also fauna and fungi. Then I’d leave the lupins to spread and fix and enrich the most barren areas. I’d also look to set aside ‘pasture’ and crop fields in the most barren areas. The crop fields being enriched with the kelp which is always present on the beach.

There's so much that you can do, just by sculpting the land in minor and major ways, to slow down the runoff. You don't have to deprive anyone downstream if you set things up to naturally slow and sequester runoff during the biggest storms. If it's small-scale, you still will get your seasonal flooding and natural beach-building processes. You can speed up the process with strategic tree plantings, which slow the movement of groundwater. I think that when you get TOO ambitious, and make huge dams for river navigation or massive hydro power projects, that in itself can interrupt anadromous fish migrations and natural erosion and deposition processes. The Grand Canyon is losing its beaches, because of Glen Canyon Dam, which regulates the Colorado River's discharge, preventing natural flooding downstream, as well as removing much of the natural sediment because the slow water above the dam lacks the competence* to move the sediments. There are innumerable places around the world that could be greened up with what you're doing, or even just by sculpting some swales and planting some trees. There's kind of a cascading effect, where the better it gets, the faster it gets even better (up to a limit, of course). *Geomorphology term
