I love my name and wouldn’t change it but I relate to all of these struggles. It’s of Spanish origin but pronounced the French way and I live in The Netherlands… I’ve been teased and misunderstood so much that I taught myself to mispronounce my name for others, and it’s only recently that I stopped doing that bc my friends have insisted I introduce myself properly. Even if people don’t say “what?” 3 times when introducing myself I can tell that it never lands and they just nod and smile but it’s whatever

My old name (I changed my name to a more masculine name because I’m trans) was Karina. I didn’t hate the name, but it’s crazy how bad people were at pronouncing it, even though it shouldn’t be that difficult for English speakers. People called me Katrina, Karianna, Serena, Marina, and so on. People are so bad with names lol

I was never able to find my name on anything but it sure never gave me trauma because of it 😂😂 I'm actually glad I'm not one of the 1000s of Ashley's in my town
