With the Lincoln 200M being a bit longer than a lot of welders. What propriety welding cart did you find that was suitable. Or did you build your own….? If so, have you got any info, sketches etc that would assist in me building a similar cart please.

Hey mate, have a look at my most recent video on the Tri Machine Welder Cart. That’s what I’m using now. In the video I also show the previous cart and the top shelf I folded up out of aluminium for it to fit the longer welder 👍🏼

@@Kenny_BSweet. Thanks for prompt reply. Edit: Subsequent to your reply. I have just ordered the WTC-800 Tri-cart welding trolley from H&F. Thanks to the excellent information on this vid and the cart vid you recommended. You have saved me from a lot of deliberation and possibly getting a sub-standard item. Thanks heaps. Bought you a coffee too… (seems not much of a thank-you really, but enjoy it anyway).

Nice project- was thinking of the same- but I would not go so crazy with the frame. mainly stretch it- move steering to middle, add two seats, studs standing up in back so no roll bar. made for driving around property or campgrounds only. no ATV off roading. Also, only RWD ATV so more simple.

@todd5072Ай бұрын
Might not tig my mistake
@Kenny_BАй бұрын
Yeah mate, I would definitely do all the main long welds with double pulse MIG. It’s just so much quicker. You would still need a TIG for the finer areas where you need to finesse the weld a bit more. The MIG is great but you can’t put heat in without adding wire so it isn’t suitable for some areas.

It’s a great machine at the price point. Love mine. Bit of a learning curve working out the settings. I recommend going into advanced synergic for double pulse. Just to custom set your balance, low current and frequency. I use single pulse and a back step mainly. I just find it easier. Set up your hot start and crater fill. Mate you won’t look back.

All these 270 awnings are pretty hefty, but yeah you can mount it to the roof rack as long as it’s solid enough. One like a Rhino Rack or Frontrunner with the aluminium extrusions would hold it easily.

Easy to get an F26 flexi head and swap it out. Also there is a second white plastic collar especially for those large gas diffusers which keeps everything nice and tidy and insulates the diffuser all the way up. That gap you were talking about is live when you push the button so not the right way to run those big ones. Been running Tig gear professionally for over 40 years and never had an issue cooking torches. Great info on this welder though so thanks for taking the time to post it as I’m sure lots of guys and girls will pick up useful tips from it.

Hi, I really enjoyed your video and congratulations on your impressive setup! I hope your trip to Cape York was both fun and safe. I own a Prado myself and have been considering installing a rooftop tent. However, after watching a few videos about roof load limits, I’ve had second thoughts. The Prado has a dynamic roof load limit of 100kg, and it appears that your setup might exceed that. I’m curious to know how this is working out for you. Have you encountered any issues due to the extra weight? Thanks in advance
@Kenny_B4 ай бұрын
Hey mate, this setup was only temporary to do a cape York trip. Regardless of that, I didn’t have any issues. The rooftop tent is now off the Prado and going back on my toy hauler trailer.

Last time I did it I had no issues at all. Just be prepared for any basic issues. Take spare fuel filters, air filter, basic tools, etc. I highly recommend the RACQ Ultimate cover. It’s only like $300 and saved me around $8000 in the towing costs to get the Prado home 👍🏼

I always worry about breakage in high winds and heavy precip. Seems like they're built to break when you need them the most, even the nicer ones. Open quick, like a parasol, if you're lunching in the middle of summer. That's a nice feature. Same for a light rain without too much wind. But I need to see more reviews under harsher conditions. Been thinking about a half of a Quonset hut, i.e., a quarter cylinder with a simple tarp with some loops sewn in to hold the ribs in place. Basically make a covered tunnel.
