I’ve always had some plants and bird feeders, but when Covid hit, that’s when I really invested time in making my property into a garden I could relax in. It was nice being outside even if it was just to pull weeds at that time.

I too spent a lot of time outside cultivating my property during Covid. Gardens and bird feeders are so calming, I bet your garden is wonderful! Thank you for sharing. 😊

Do you put them under grow lights indoors?
@reallyrootedАй бұрын
I do not, you may plant them directly in the ground. I prefer to start mine in containers, once they have significant foliage I plant them in the ground. Planting them in the containers helps me monitor the moisture levels.

The channel has potential but you TALK WAYYYYYY TOO MUCH! No PROFESSIONAL is going to want to listen to a Woman’s Mouth about a whole lotta nothin’! Maybe bite your tongue a little more!?? Let the Men Work & GET IN THERE AND GET DIRTY WITH THEM! Get a Tripod, we don’t need you to hold a camera. GET TO WORK!!!!!!

I believe they need tons of direct light to do well. Very hard to provide that indoors unfortunately. They do look beautiful next to your fireplace and it’s worth a shot to give it a try. I have decided to treat them as an annual in my zone 8b, expensive to buy every year but worth it in my opinion.

I wonder how these alliums worked for you. Was the performance in the subsequent years any good?
@reallyrooted5 ай бұрын
Most of them bloomed the following year, but have since fizzled out. The tree to the right has gotten quite big, so I believe they weren’t getting enough sun. Overall, I haven’t had very much luck with alliums, but I think they are such a beautiful flower so I’ll continue trying. Thank you for watching and thank you for the question!

Hi is this crushed concrete you have there past the arbor?
@reallyrooted Жыл бұрын
No, it’s pea gravel and large brown rocks bordering the beds. There is a concrete sidewalk along the edge of the house. We have several different pathways- brick, concrete, gravel and stepping stones. 😊

Thank you for sharing this video. Now that it has been over a year ago, how has the construction held up. Any sinking or shifting of your flagstones?
@reallyrooted Жыл бұрын
Hi Karen, It has held up very well. We have heavy clay soil, and I planted some things on the riser to help keep the soil in tack. Keep in mind we only use these steps during the growing season, so they do not get a lot of foot traffic.

Amen sister. I hear you and understand fully. Gardening has helped me with the lost of my mother. I stopped working in 2021 to care for her and she passed 8 months later. Why do people garden in flip flops? I love gardening but it gets messy and the LAST thing I want is an injury or a random bug to crawl across my foot or to have my feet unnecessarily dirty or my pedicure ruined. Make it make sense.
@reallyrooted Жыл бұрын
It makes sense to me! If you don’t like gardening in flip flops, then don’t garden in flip flops. Simple.
