I’ve binged your videos the last few days and I’ve noticed you primarily use the deep rapalas shadow rap, husky jerky, and rip stop. Is there any reason why you’d use one over the others? I’m looking at getting a few pretty soon to fish the rivers too.
@absoluteunitmedia19 сағат бұрын
Water depth mainly. Very shallow cold water situation I go for the shadow rap shad(2 hook version) because it’s a slow rise bait, almost Topwater. Deep versions for deeper water

Have you been to lake keystone in Armstrong county, I live in Pa myself and it’s a deep lake good for musky and walnuts

Thanks for the info will consider obtaining one of these batteries. Any concern over fire hazard potential when charging these batteries like some Li-On batteries in laptops, scooters and EV's ? I have friends in RC airplanes that have seen fires when charging the small LI-ON batteries they use in their RC planes. They charge these batteries outside in a metal container. Fire problems predominately with Chinese made batteries.
@absoluteunitmedia7 күн бұрын
They’ve had to adapt Lithium batteries for use on the water since lithium reacts explosively with water…but I’m pretty certain the technology is there now. I’ve seen no reports of any issues with the LiTime batteries. They seem legit. Cant speak for other Chinese companies though…
@lifeisfuneh7 күн бұрын
Awesome! Question: Do you charge it after every outing to 100% or like cars only to 80% or so? Thanks
@absoluteunitmedia7 күн бұрын
If it’s a full day then yes. But if I do a couple half day trips I’ll leave it. The issue is there’s no way for me to tell how charged it is other than experience so I tend to just charge it if I have time
@allereb7 күн бұрын
Lot of kayakers, including myself, are using LiTime batteries (might be a slightly different model) and never heard of anybody having issues. There's some folks that do teardowns on KZfaq and these seem to have pretty good build quality, especially compared to other cheapies. Redodo seems to be the other cheaper brand that generally seems to get good reviews. As you said, it just doesn't make sense to do lead acid when these lithium batteries are at these price points. NOCO Genius chargers seem quite popular (10A model is around $100). I also threw the Amped Outdoors shunt, though other options out there, on it which bluetooth's to your phone so you can monitor the battery level.

I hate that the Mon still gets a bad rap from pollution. Water quality has improved drastically and most of the consumption advisories were removed years ago. Species that require really good water quality like the Brook Silverside have returned as well. I was there when a fisheries professor at CalU found them in 2010, and they've increased in number ever since. I'd eat walleye, sauger, perch, etc. from the Mon, no question.

They’re called speckled trout or sea trout here but they aren’t even real trout, they’re in the drum family but just kind of look like trout hence the name

Beauty day boys! Q- how deep were you generally fishing? Casting over emergent weed flats to first drop off break?
@RB-oc7ti23 күн бұрын
Lol! I asked the question right before finishing the video! Sounds like thats pretty much exactly what you did in ur explanation at the end!? Thx for the great video👍
@absoluteunitmedia23 күн бұрын
Ya we were casting over 9-14 feet of water where the weeds were tapering off. The main thing was we picked weeded points and humps that were adjacent to the main lake/ channel rather than tucked away in creek arms

Man, I'm jealous. I love to fish, could go almost every day or night. But, I'm alone, all my friends are gone. You seem to fish some of my best spots as I recognize many of these on the rivers. I have a fully equipped bass/walleye boat but no one wants to go. I watch your video's and can smell the beach and water. Sad.
