Have both of them. 1dx m2 for portraits/sport/birds/animals and super high iso 5dm4 for landscapes, architecture, interior and for case when you need to crop a lot. 1dx m2 has faster AF and better ISO quality above ISO2000. So… this is true. Pro vs SemiPro)

It bugged me a lot . One d850 does the other doesnt ,, set max iso at 64 , if you go over the max it stops ,ahhhh it really pissed me off . Now none do the silly iso thing

the new install software for Windows chokes at 18% if you don't accept 'Share with WD" at the start.... you then have to disactivate once install is done. Stupid feature which is offered as an option upon install, but doesn't and leaves you stranded. Thankful for youtubers!

Question ... if i set up my D850 in DX (crop mode) and i use a 105mm Macro 2.8 lens WITH a TC14 EIII teleconverter for insects (macro photo) it will get me "closer" than in the FX mode and without the teleconverter, right ?

I changed this cmos battery but it still fails, did I just get a bad one? or will it deplete if the laptop is a spare on the garage shelf and the main battery doesnt last long either?

It's too bad you can't adapt canon efm mount lenses to micro 4/3rds, all those lenses are pretty good bang for your buck and they would look great on m 4/3

I just bought a used D850 and 2 or 3 used lenses to go with it but for good the camera seems to be, there is a very useful independent feature on most Canon (Sony too...) is a dedicated AEL button. With the D850 it seems more annoying, apparently having to half shutter press, then press another button, etc. Since I don't need the back button focus, would you know if it can be assigned instead to AEL, without having to half shutter press, like on Canon, Sony, etc.? Thank you for any insight...

2023 discovered this comparison with Canon 500MM F4.5L USM legendary lens , in eBay I bought around 1300 dollars and I crazy enough to use it on stage event and also sports too. Although not as sharp as legendary EF 300mm f/2.8L USM with insane fluorite and UD element , but still it is cheaper to own , very great quality . Compared to modernize Sigma 150-600 which offered zoom , this is great walkaround sniper , but downside was I found it hard to spin that ring and zoom motor timing is slow compared to Canon.

How do you set a custom WB for shooting VIDEO with the D850? I tried capturing a custom WB in still mode but when I switch to movie mode, the custom WB does not carry over to movie mode. If I put it in movie mode and try to set a custom WB, it won't capture it; that is, when I hold down the WB button, 'PRE' does not flash the way it does in still mode. Maybe there is a problem with my camera???

I shot two days of youth Futsal this weekend with my new to me 1DX ii, and the camera was incredible. Focus was insanely fast and accurate, the jpgs with low high iso noise reduction selected, were perfectly usable at iso 12800. There were instances where it refused to focus, or jumped onto a person in the background, and it cost me a handful of great shots but overall it was overwhelmingly brilliant. In 2022, is it still relevant? Silly question, the camera didn’t stop being brilliant just because the 1DX mkiii and R3 now exist. 😁
