Here's what I do. Map out all major intersections/vectors in which trend lines clearly pass through. These intersections/vectors establish time frames for specific patterns. Copy/paste the current pattern to compare to previous patterns. Once found, copy the pattern (according to time frame) that follows it, and paste it in the current to future time frame, and then either mirror/flip them according to estimated future trend lines. Ensure they fit perfectly according to future trend lines. Then take the future pattern's dips up and down, and draw in the opposite direction. It's been surprisingly reliable. Helped me predict the May 13 spike almost exactly, the SPX price action, etc. It's been instrumental for predicting and catching discount flash crashes weeks/months in advance.
