Good introduction and info...but FBmarketplace is always flooded with Scamsters, which is easy to spot once you open their profile and see them have many listings of cars which is way too cheap. I was wondering whether there is a way to filter ads by avoiding these scam profiles which will definitely save a ton of time.

this is a bit odd but i have a knowledge gap and i cant find a video talking about the basics of building hp in newer vehicles. im old,50 almost and when i was 20 i loved working on cars and built a datsun 240z with a chevy 350 in it. i recently was given a 2009 escape with a 2.5l in it and have been working on it as my project car. i rebuilt my transmission and no issues there. now i want to create a little h.p. but don't understand how it all works with fuel injection and computers. back in the day it was just bigger valves, cam lobe sizes, and timing. idk anyone into cars and no one shows this stuff in a video cause it's not the sexy part. can you tune any computer? do you buy a new comp? if you can point me in the right direction that would be great. ty

I had one of these years ago I remember it leaked oil all the time and the dash and seats cracked so bad i had to get covers it was a real let down I got it for $7000 in 2008 and drove it untill someone ran in to the back of it. Then sold it for $500. It sure did cost a lot and it ran on premium gass at that time it was $4.47 a galon it was a money pit for sure.

Great Video, This may be a stupid question but I am pretty new on this, can I use a 2.5 engine that came from an automatic car donor if my mx5 is manual or it does not matter? I was thinking about doing the same swap, but most of the good car donors I find are auto.

Awesome video. Two questions for you if you could please. What product was used for the black side markers (tint, or full marker replacement?) and regarding the lowering... it looks like this c7z is actually a Z07 based on the carbon ceramic rotors. Is that true, and if so I thought that you could not lower on the stock bolts due to the difference in suspension components for the Z07 package? If you happen to know, I'd appreciate, thanks!
@GasPedalGarage5 ай бұрын
All full sidemarker replacements you can get them off Amazon, you can lower z07 package just not as much as a regular z06 with non z07 package

my nc 3.75 25th anniversary had a very similar BBR stage 2 turbo kit (305 bhp) , lasted 22k miles and then shat it's self in exactly the same way as yours. Stayed 2.0 but it's a fully forged lump in it now, running 9psi boost and producing 321bhp.
@thesituator83925 ай бұрын
how many miles did your motor have when it blew ? would you advise building the 2.0 motor before throwing boost at it ?
@victorrodriguez28065 ай бұрын
So, we are learning.... you get what you pay for. I know you are on a budget. But for about $5000 a person can get a brand new Chevy crate motor. Not a rebuild. Brand new. Now Im a old guy. And I dont like to do things twice. I like toys just like you. But..... I dont think I have the desire to drive fast on a track anymore. So just making a fast RELIABLE street car would satisfy me. And with a good passenger's seat, I could bring my wife along for some top down sunday rides. Good luck, I hope all your efforts will bring you a long lasting education.
