Does the steering stabilizer effect your control at turns?

It is not noticeable whatsoever. It essentially limits the speed of bar movements so that normal speed inputs are unaffected, but high speed movements are prevented.

That’s the Achilles heal of Racebox in my opinion. Check out my review of dragy. Their proprietary overlay is excellent. Their only issue is the requirement for constant connection to a phone. I just use an old one.

Hello, just found your video. I am not a trackday rider but I was wondering whether you can use it just to record 0 to 60 mph measurements? Would that work as well? Also, about the software: I am currently using Telemetry Overlay. Maybe you can give it a try, pretty versatile.

You can definitely use it for acceleration runs. Just put it into “drag” mode and you’re ready to go. Thanks for the tip, I will look into it. If you decide to purchase the product you can save 15% with the code ULTERIOR15 at checkout.

Good video. How do you feel about the British Customs tail tidy versus this one?
@ulteriormoto
@ulteriormoto 2 ай бұрын
I looked into the British Customs unit and three others in the article on my website. There’s a link in the video description. In short, I think the British Customs might be the best one available. It looks easy to install and it’s specific to US plate sizes so you don’t have to deal with adaptors. Plus it’s a little bit cheaper.

The app on your phone has the location of tracks nearby. You simply need to select the configuration (if there is more than one for your track) then tell it to record “stand alone” before you head out to your session.

that's insane... however I would be cautious, because it says 1) do not use on hot bike etc., 2) first test on small surface! (why), 3) there are photos to use on dirt bike and 4 wheeler, but no photo of road motorcycle
@ulteriormoto
@ulteriormoto 2 ай бұрын
The bike was not hot. The instructions on their website does not say to test on a small area, in fact it reads “Spray Nano Tech Bike Cleaner onto the entire motorbike including components…” I communicated with them extensively afterwards and there was never a mention of not using the product on a street bike. Their instructional video shows a Triumph getting cleaned. Sponsoring a prominent World Superbike rider would be a weird choice for an off-road product.

@ulteriormoto
@ulteriormoto 2 ай бұрын
I have the 35mm Rise Side Mount Adjustable Angle Clip On Riser Kit. If your rise is sufficient it should clear the triple bolts. The other option is that you can get the ones angled toward the center of the forks. In my case I have both the rise and that center orientation. If you go with the center orientation, you probably want the short bars because you can’t slide them through the bar clamps like you can with the angled mounts.

Do you foresee any problems with the round vs square? The whole time I am looking at your bike on the woodcraft, I feel like the set screw is going to break and since those are round, immediately rotate... whereas the Vortex can't rotate (even when you break the weld)... how does pitbull compare to woodcraft?
@ulteriormoto
@ulteriormoto 3 ай бұрын
I can’t imagine the set screw breaking on the Woodcraft. My real world experience has not shown this to be an issue. I can confirm at least three weld breakages on Vortex from different users. I do not have personal experience with Pitbull stands though I have only heard good things about them. I think the Woodcraft advantage is the adjustability. Setting it only as high as necessary is really nice for lifting the bike by yourself because it requires so little effort. I also like it for tire changes so I don’t have to lift it much to align the axle with all the various components.

The phone must be in constant contact with the device, so you will need to find a place on your bike to store it. Alternatively, you could try the RaceBox mini S. Thanks man. Sorry that happened to you too. I contacted the reseller and they had Vortex send out a new leg, and I just barely tightened it but it kept slipping and eventually it broke yet again. Woodcraft’s are practically bulletproof and much easier to use because they don’t lift the rear 6” in the air-you can adjust them to only as much as you need. I don’t get compensated by them, they just make great products. I used to say that about Vortex.
@ulteriormoto
@ulteriormoto 3 ай бұрын
Thinking about your situation, here’s another option for you. Get the seller to replace the broken part for you. This time when you set it up, don’t install the spool bracket bolts. Lift your bike and mark the position of the bolt holes on the spool brackets. Set the bike back down, remove the brackets, and drill holes at your marks just slightly larger than the bolt threads. Reassemble and now the bolts will hold the brackets in place through shear forces rather than friction. They won’t be adjustable anymore, but they shouldn’t keep breaking.

It seems like RaceRender thinks G forces are equivalent to lean angle even though it's not. You can be leaned 25 degrees to the right, but if you're coming out of a corner and beginning to stand the bike up, there will be positive g forces to the left. It seems like RaceRender is interpreting that to mean that you're now leaning to the left.

Lean angle will not work on a motorcycle with currently available integrated sensors. The g force effectively is downward towards the bottom of bike through corners, rather than towards the ground, skewing all the data.

Great review! Thank you. After watching your video I purchased one. Waiting for it to stop raining in AZ to try it out. One question and one comment. I regularly use an 8 mile section of almost deserted twisty desert highway to improve my riding on an Aprilia Tuono V4. It is an out and back circuit that I generally ride three times. Question: Will the RB recognize the starting point as a start/finish line when I return to repeat the circuit? I will probably try it on standalone record the first attempt and see what happens but I thought you may have played with the RB enough to know how it will handle that situation. Comment: Are you sure that your line would be the same with more speed and the same lean angle? Maybe your speed increased toward the end of the corner because you were opening up your turn while maintaining the same lean angle? I don't know, just a thought. Again, thanks for the video.
