Guys, what i would like to add to all of that, especially for the Nordschliefe, because now that it came to ACC, it basically blew in popularity is: before trying to get fast on it, first learn it slow to the point where you could visualize the entire track in your mind, corner by corner, w/o hesitation. This will free your mind from the burden of wondering "was this the corner i am thinking about or was it another corner". Just learning the track layout is probably the greatest time gain you could have on that track, simply because of how enormous it is. If you free your mind from wondering what it actually coming up and focus entirely on the incoming corner and watching for you pointers, you lap times will start to go down sooo fast. I dropped from 8.30 to 8.12 in the GT3 cars just by learning the track. It's only now that i am starting to focus on my actual lines through the corners. This one WILL take a lot of time to conquer because it's one giant behemoth of a track. Don't rush it.

Is this comparing the same cars though? If ACC's ABS for GT3 is accurate then does that mean iRacing's is not?? I've only played ACC so I cant compare

I shaved 10 seconds. Again 10 seconds off my laptime on my first try tonight!! The understanding on oversteer vs understeer after applying this gave me 10 seconds and now i know that i feel it, and i can now start to attune to it, and then adjust the car a bit to play with it. I just see so many doors opening in my mind on how i can polish all this up once its ingrained fundamentally!!! I was laughing out loud in excitement at the realization!!! Thank you sir for your hard work and dedication!!

This kind of shit is what makes me absolutely fucking hate racing online. You can spend hours and hours of your time, utterly fucking wasted by shit eating fucktards who care more about their fucking ego than fair competition. They shouldn't get penalties. They should get race bans for this shit. Teach them an actual lesson.

Just gonna through this out there for anyone looking at a DD wheel. I’d stay away from logitechs. (I own their DD) and it’s over priced for what they offer. They charge $1000 for 11nm, no ecosystem and extra wheels and complete plastic casing. For $1000 with MOZA you can get so much more bang for your buck right now. Logitech has a lot they need to work on before they become a viable option for any sim racer.

Trail braking with controller is hard, but definitely possible. Without the responsiveness of a wheel, it's so much trial and error. But even with a wheel it's still not easy. But if you have the cash I definitely recommend buying a wheel, it's a lot of fun to drive with compared to a controller.

The issue for a lot of the ppl on trail braking in a virtual world is that they cant tell right away how much brake they are holding and how much they are releasing as they go into the corner. Unlike in real life, other than the sense of speed, when you're braking hard and begin to realease, you could feel the brake pressures in relation to the rotating. Only ppl that have driven fast and taken a corner know what this feels like and know its partly difficult to translate in game.
@steveclaeysgoesracing
@steveclaeysgoesracing 4 сағат бұрын
I race irl and this is totally what makes me slower then other. You don't feel the brake pressure or the release of the force so I carry too much braking into the turn which makes me 5 or 10 km/h slower in the slow turns. That makes that the car is not rotating and spins easier as you need to accelerate more.
@MRD0889
@MRD0889 2 сағат бұрын
@steveclaeysgoesracing yea man I run CSL load cell, I bought it in November, and just now this month, the Elastomers finally broke in, so it's now easier to feel the pedal compress and release as I release. Personally, I think the better combo would be a peddle hall effect with a fat damper shock or two left and right of the pedal. That way, there's resistance on the press down and easier to hold that pressure, and when release, you feel it like swell under your foot. It's just getting that connection of wheel information, your eyes, and that peddle.

Early apex = you carry more speed into the corner but slow on the exit Late apex = you carry less speed into the corner but faster on the exit ( that’s why you heard people say “slow in fast out” ) But overall it depends on what come after the corner if it’s long straight after the exit you want to late apex.

I get what you're saying, but you need to explain why when getting to ABS, the trail braking won't be as effective. Due to ABS modulating fluid pressure from hard braking and the system trying its best to not let you lock up. So with the fluid being modulated by the ABS contraption, you the driver have less say on how much pressure to hold.

ACC uses a lot of 100% braking as the norm, but the issue still applies: you don't know if you're braking with 101% or 150%, so releasing the brake slightly may or may not drop it below 100%

The ABS is there to maximise performance. Say the wheels lock at 80%, without ABS you have to stay between 75-80%, and if you hit 81% you won't make the turn. With ABS you can tread the 80somethings, even though that is not optimal. So it becomes easier to hit the limit of the brakes, because going slightly beyond will lose you some time but won't kill you.

Counter point , if you just full send every time you are just smashing your head agaisnt the wall and less likely to improve , if you work up to it its much more controllable and measured and more likely to end up with gains... from experience ive seen both work but personally i dont like the just send it till you get lucky approach, better to be good than lucky
