I think the "mindfulness" movement is due a reckoning, and Dr Treleaven is helping start that reckoning.

Mind is a field. Actually body is in mind. A very small part of mind is in body the rest is around the body. With Meditation our mind expands and we feel peaceful. When the mind shrinks we feel stressed and suffocated and that’s why people some times commit suicide.

Yeah what this podcast is saying helps me very well as it reminds me of the words in the song This Is Home Truly teaching you to be mindful to lend an eye of what is around you.. saying *as my senses tell me*

I'm in week 3 of Professor Mark Williams' new Deeper Mindfulness book. The course goes into much more detail about these techniques, and the guided meditations are having a profound effect on my life and state of mind. I will be sharing this video with friends and family as an introduction. I visited the Oxford University website but can't find the playlist mentioned at the end of this video. Are these videos still available?

❤😂your story of letting the student go meet their needs in the moment to better be present un the classroom was beautiful and had me on a mental montage of my experiences with some students, I love it and giggle when to think about how life is so much easier to work with the child. The behavior is the child's the challenge is the adult's. If you have a link or Google drive or SharePoint for these amazing visuals and slides, can you please share them. 🙏 thanks

I am not able to relax. How do you relax ? I feel even more anxious and tension in my body. What am i doing wrong?
@fLuFFyPuPPyS14 ай бұрын
Could be a few things. First thing that comes to mind is are you taking any stimulants? Caffeine, medications, etc? If yes, try limiting or cutting out at the very least all caffeine for a week and see how you feel. For me this eliminated most of my anxiety. Otherwise, it could be that you have built up tension and anxiety in your body over time and by doing this exercise you are releasing it which is causing you to feel more anxious. It’s actually a good thing and I would suggest continuing to work with relaxation meditations as it will help reset your body from a regular state of fight or flight/ anxiety. You have the key and the ability, so just keep practicing and working on it. Hope this helps.

Your vocal dynamics, articulation, and pacing are extremely effective for this type of narration; thank you for a perfect (and perfectly concise) meditative experience! Interestingly, I also think what made this so effective for me was the lack of music/sound effects... I'm a musician and i ALWAYS have music or white noise going when i meditate/fall asleep, but when they have their own music it often clashes or is distracting. But today i had no music playing and i put this on and within 45 seconds I'd slipped into the meditative state effortlessly, with no 'cosmic sound effects' or anything. I feel like yours is the first one in years i've heard without the competition of noise behind it.

Thank you so much for offering trauma sensitive mindfulness practices and drawing attention to some pitfalls of mindfulness or meditation practices. So far most teachers I have met seem to think meditation is a 'cure for all' or think mindfulness will automatically result in compassion and kindness (as well as better sleep and a whole lot more). Whereas with me certain practices have conditioned me to become more dysregulated as well as be more judgmental about myself. Only allowing myself to practice 'my own way' has helped me continue and reap some benefits. For instance not focusing on breath but on sounds and therefore ignore the instructions. I hope more teachers will get a more balanced view on meditation and become more trauma-informed.

Starts off slow, a lot of guidance in the beginning but not a lot of breath cueing. Gives one space thru the middle and ends great. Give it a try, well worth the 30 mins. Thank you
