This could be the perfect lil baby for me to love! I'm disabled, & kinda a shut-in. Recently my doctor has been calling me "profoundly depressed", & wants me to get a dog. I totally agree! I just know myself... I have to have a rodent in my life🤗. & I'm looking for such a deep connection, I don't know how it would be with two babies😶... Mr. Arthur, do you know what the laws are like in California, having a doctors prescription?

Hello annachristina6539, unfortunately in the state of California prairie dogs are illegal to own in that state. Having a prescription or a letter from your primary care physician will not be considered as an acceptation. When your state has it in the law books that the animal is 100% illegal, then there is nothing you can do. Prairie dogs are one of those kind of wild animals that are legal to own in some states. There are a handful of states that you can legally own one but you would have to have a permit. There are other types of rodents that are legal to own in California that I can recommend to you?

I once saw a chipmunk with his cheeks totally full and rolling a half ear of corn acrossed the road and once when I was hunting five chipmunks kept running over my legs they were wrestling it was so neat

Please don't recommend or even suggest that you should give your ferret a bath. For the most parts, ferrets are very clean animals. At best, you should never bathe your ferret as bathing causes them to produce more oil for their fur and skin that you just washed off and could cause them to smell more. We'll only bathe our ferrets if they get into something that needs to be washed off. Also, you can add diet to the bad side I guess. People look at ferrets and think, "Ohh, rodent" and want to give them fruit or vegetables but ferrets cannot digest plant material and it could cause a blockage in their digestive system that will require surgery. The best kibble for them (high protein, no plant meal) is expensive (we use Instinct Ultimate Protein Grain Free Cage Free Chicken Recipe). The best food for them is a raw diet (exactly like it sounds) that takes extra time and money to prepare. Even with the negative, ferrets make fantastic pets. The wife and I got one about 8 years ago, fell in love and now, we rescue ferrets and currently have 7 of them running around.

Baths cam be very beneficial too.....although in moderation, like pace a month or every other month. Oatmeal baths can be very good for their skin as well.

I have a white bany. His name is Scooby. He’s being trained for seizure response and already goes to get my son or sister when I have a seizure. He. Is so so precious.

Thanks for sharing!, I'm interested in owning rats but I have to go to the university and don't want to leave them alone many hours. I really like them but I couldn't have them, so I keep watching rat videos waiting to the day I'll adopt rats

Sure you are welcome. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Just keep in mind whenever you find the right time to get pet rats, make sure you try to spend time with them as much as possible they are social creatures just like us and they are known to bond with their human. Also keep in mind time flies and rats have a short life span on average they live 3 years. You don’t want miss out on some fun play time with them.

Mini Schnauzers do come in white coats. It is not a common color and can be rare to see one that is all white. The white color is not recognized by the AKC.

Leave them alone in their natural environment. Poppy and Pax had special circumstances and would not survive out there. Dont want to see people "farming" them.

Ranchers are selfish being they forgot that the prairie dogs were here first before we took their land. Leave them alone give them their space they don't belong in someone's house serving as pets

So happy they can live long lives with humans - because their main predator in the wild is humans - farmers especially, who cut their life short by killing them because they consider them nuisances to their crops. So in the wild, they won’t live long. So they can be happy and healthy if they have a doting and responsible owner. (Like Poppy and now Paxton)

I hope more people don’t keep them as pets. There’s always abuse, neglect, abandonment and all that is already in epic proportions with cats and dogs. That’s why there are rescues for all the many types of pets, people just don’t take care of them. It’s really sad.

People that think they would make a great pet need to ask Poppy & Paxton how easy it is. Check out their channel. These are wild animals & they are not easy pets, they take constant care. If you want a pet get a dog or cat don’t get something that is a wild animal & you really have no idea how to care for.

I would love one,but I live in England,I haven't heard of anyone having one over here..I have got guinea pigs lol..If I could get one I'm not looking at getting one just yet..think I'm going to do some searching into seeing if I can even get one..They are adorably cute & really intresting.. They are adorable but they are not for everyone. Since I am in the United States, it’s based on what state you are in allows you to own one and also if it’s one of the legal states you have to check if your county and town allows them as pets. In England you should see if it is allowed to own one but make sure you check if your county and town allows you to own one.

Finding a prairie dog in a pet store can be very hard to find. You will have better chances of finding one through a breeder online.

They are not rats😢😢😢 you they were not made to be someone's pet. So, leave them alone let them be free. If you kill them because you don't like them you will get the same treatment you will be punished for hurting them

We have these in the Texas Panhandle. Ranchers hate them. I’m an artist and I love them and take pics if I see them. Our baseball team are known as sod poodles!

This makes me so sad that my family made us exterminate them when we were younger. So needless. They're a part of a healthy prairie ecosystem, and we need to respect them.
