Honest question to Dr. Beeke - What we’re you waiting on to believe Christ? Apparently a lot of puritan readings and a long period of time passed between true conviction and saving faith. The gospel must have been presented in his your readings. It would almost be unfathomable to think the commands of the gospel, the offer of Christ’s free atoning grace were not given. I’m not asking for the providential answer. I know God is sovereign over the process, but rather what was in your mind at that time leading you NOT to rest in faith?

@@Amilton5solas Yay ..that's excellent. I jumped ahead to the chapters on Election and it's opposition, Predestination, Foreknowledge...then went back and started on page 1. It's crazy how much l learned. No wonder everyone talks about the Institutes. But also that he was only one year into his conversion when he was writing them. God Bless. 🌷

I agree with most of what Turretin teaches, though I have issues with the gospel. He states that not every man is commanded to believe that .christ died for him, that is incredibly problematic.

Christian in name only. That's pretty much what the largest denominations have become. Presbyterians are nothing but a community center, nailing LGBT flags to their properties. The methodist church has been split in half. One side has decided to completely abandon scriptural moral principles. You know which ones...... I'm guessing the Lutheran church It's right there alongside them. From what I know of them, they likewise are extremely tolerant of certain sins. As long as you proclaim the Lord you're good, But you can live anyway you want. This insane idea, that Christ is so radically accepting that he's willing to overlook a person's willfull sin is quite evil.

So, I’m not here to debate, but to gain further understanding. The “price” the God of the Bible was sacrificing his only son. However, 1) he could create another son, 2) he sacrificed him with the knowing that he would be resurrected. So, did he really sacrifice anything? Did he really pay a price and to whom was it paid to? And if his son died for the sins of all, why are there still people considered “sinners”? That’s always baffling. Sacrificing your “only” son…to yourself…only to resurrect him. That’s akin to a billionaire, giving away all his money to “charity”, only to tax the charity and reap more money from it.

Hi Sierra, please read Isaiah 53 speaking about the Lord Jesus. The coming of the Messiah the savior of the world was prophesied in the Old Testament. Hopefully this chapter will explain to you why He was sacrificed. God Himself paid the price so that we may have a chance at living with Him in His Kingdom. The Bible says that if we commit one sin, we commit all of them. Therefor none of us are worthy of being in the presence of God without His sacrifice. Yes there are still sinners in the world, God did not remove sin. He removed the price that WE MUST PAY for our sins through the Lord Jesus. That if we may believe in Him and walk in a new light we may be saved from Gods wrath.

The whole point is that their mistakes ARE a big deal. Nobody on earth is worthy of God, or the Kingdom of God. Therefor, out of love, a sacrifice HAD to be made to make us worthy.@@_John_P Of course God's wrath is on the unjust, if you read revelation it is not flowers and happiness.

I don't think the god of Abraham is the right god, I think it was a djinn in a bush. A jealous god. Moses broke the original tablets, what did they say? Why was it ok to say thou shall not kill and the kill everyone that disagreed, immediately after. I believe the truth is in the bible, but to assume it is all good after millenia of men messing with it is foolish in my mind.

Rick Warren promoted Chrislam behind the scenes and Good Fight Ministries has a couple of KZfaq videos covering this topic. When Warren prayed at Obama's inauguration in 2009 , he ended his prayer in different languages , but added the Muslims version of Jesus named Isa. According to their texts Jesus was only a teacher and prophet who didn't die on the cross to save us from our sins , and wasn't resurrected.

It seems like they want to first push for female pastors , and then transgender women pastors , and every type of gender , to divide the church. They seem to be working towards silencing pastors who preach , the whole council of God.
