Patton is a genious but it was never about his vocal range, frankly I don't care. It's about his expression and first of all about the material he does.

my dude. a man of many vocal styles and timeless records. exceedingly eccentric and also bilingual. one moment he can be singing burt bacharach numbers, next he's yelling like a tazmanian devil. Peeping tom is one of my favourite of his again as late.

Depending on the consonant and the vowel, I’ve been able to get as high as B on the e but it is never a constant. People like this, like Sting, who can sing high without going falsetto amaze me. My throat would exit by disapproval.

Thank you so much for making this video notificates. I love the comments and the participation! For the ones who saying "screaming is not singing": the video is not about that. Actually, this video is not about proving anything. You can search for another work about it and I highly recommend that because I'm only a fan with lots of free time by the year I made the video and here you'll only see the register of what he can do with the voice, not arguing about his technique. With that in mind, for the purpose of the video, his screams count (and by the way, it is awesome!!).

Expressive yes, different yes.. but a lot of it doesn't really have to do with singing or carrying a tune with the kind of musical parameters that allow for comparison and an evaluation on its musical value other than a likeability or preference for something off beat / odd sounding. Just squealing or simply putting up a low voice doesn't equal singing to me. Kids do this.... see who can scream the highest.. or who can talk the lowest.. guess he didn't grow out of such a phase; I fail to understand how people could find that impressive. He is the Fiat multipla of singers; enthusiasm to make something happen doesn't always yield agreeable looking/sounding results. But that's mho ;-)

@@catnuaxgd826 better yet; an opera singer doesn't want to do any of this for obvious reasons. By the same token; an opera singer might not be able to yodel either.. it doesn't suddenly make yodeling more compelling to me either.

@@catnuaxgd826Well, there are many singers with an even bigger range than Mike (e.g. Dimash, Adam Lopez and Nicola Sedda) and e.g. Dimash is both trained in contemporary and in opera singing. Plus all of them have a much bigger functional, a much bigger controlled range than Mike. (Mike's awesome though. Hands down)

One day.....one day soon I will surpass this man. I got his lows down. Got his mids and his personalities and his false chord screams. The only thing is just his whistle register .....I don't even understand how to maintain it....I can do it first thing in the morning and late at night or after eating a chocolate bar or something that coats the throat. I can hit these notes just not in command yet. It's like you have to make a small opening in the back of the throat but not to big or small. Has to be just right. And you get a controllable whistle armed with vibrato. My only issue is I can't seem to get a grasp on it. My vocal journey has brought me far. Even when I'm able to do this shit I'm still gonna be impressed with him and anyone else that can do this shit. also for clarity. I'm comfortable singing type zero negative low I can actually dance around that. And I can get into the low notes of the whistle register with my head and falsetto. Screaming wise. I can do false and fry lows like Alex terrible and highs like shrine of malice. When I started I could barely sing an Ozzy song let alone maiden or rush. Mike Patton is Just on another level.
