You mentioned that we can draw from the discarded pile as well when its our turn , is that allowed since we will know which continent we will be drawing or is the discarded pile also kept facing down like the main pile

0:50 to be honest I didn't have much of an interest in any of the themes either, I was just fascinated by the COIN mechanics and how each one builds on those mechanics and goes in a different flow. Then once I played it and saw the event cards my interest in the subject matter grew.

I bet they never sold may of this. Way too confusing, the board just makes it weird. 😊

Question? At time 28:52, when you drew the tie fighter card, couldn't you have dropped 4 ties in the executor space, and still rolled 5 dice against the B-wings? And again at time 29:13, same thing (drop 4 more ties, then roll to attack B-wings)? Seems this was a missed opportunity to keep hits off your Executor. Also same the same at other times in the video, but this was the most apparent change in direction of the battle.

This game is awful.

32:32 In hire you're supposed to pay 2 for every parish you set to submussive. The wording is terribad but it's true. Every single one of those actions cost 2 because they are different locations and you pay for the locations. Furthermore, because it was a single plot you werent even able to do anything after the first 2 henchmen were set down.

Can you stack Rally cards? If you roll a 1, 1, 2...one rally card would make the dice 3,3,5...if two rally cards were played it would go to 5, 5, 7. My nephew tried to pull that on me. Any thoughts?

I played a friend's copy of this when it first came out and enjoyed it quite a bit, but havent picked up my own copy yet. Now that they're making In the Footsteps of Marie Curie with some new mechanics, I am even more interested. Being science teachers, my wife and I both enjoy the theme, and I think she would appreciate the game play 👍

Have you guys ever played with or looked at the expansion?

Such a great game. I wish they would have done expansions instead of the rework.

I really enjoy this game. Simple rule set, great theme and look. I keep on forgetting though that you can play 2 like cards as a wild when boxing. This can definitely make boxing larger sets easier.

I have to disagree. Jeff is astronomically more evil than Fenirob.

When making a playthrough, say, "I'm drawing an event/item/other" as "I'm drawing that card, those'... is not helpful.

Nice playthrough. I remember playing this several years ago with my Dad and enjoying it, though I remember thinking it would have been more fun with more players (as with many area control games). There was also a pretty nifty dino-themed variant the author kindly lent me pnp files of, which was way more thematic and had (subjectively) better art imo.

37:27 - You produce science and materials only _after_ you have paid your civilisation upkeep cost. Since you didn't have sufficient of either to trade them for that cost before production (and you have to trade 2 resources of the _same_ _type_ for each other resource that you want, so you would have had to lose 4 material and 2 science, or vice versa), you would have had to return an influence disk(s) from sectors you control back to your influence track, returning any population cubes to their tracks on your board, until you are able to afford the new civilisation cost (noting also that if removing cubes causes you to lose a money-producing planet(s), then you have to recalculate your net loss based on your new money production total).
