Going to have the GoPro's mounted differently this summer. The rake struggles in the heavy sudan. I had to open the width of the rake which caused me to miss the outside edges of the windrows. Need to add gathering wheels on the baler.

That looks like a Befco rake. I had a 10 wheel. I had the same problem with the holes wollering out. Purchased all new ($900)parts and fixed it. In one year it was wore out again. They junk takes, poorly designed. I went to a twin bar rake, so much better.

I’ve tried sorghum Sudan here in Southern Illinois, several years ago. Most years we just don’t have enough drying time for it. Wish we did, it would make a lot of good hay. I tried pearl millet in 2023. It did about average on yield, but the cows love it.

How many hours do you have your Mahindra now and do you still like it?
@navarrohillsranch
@navarrohillsranch 6 ай бұрын
I have over 1200 hours. The tractor engine and transmission are pretty rock solid. The electrical on the Mahindra is subpar because they use under sized wire gauge. The AC is not great. The tractor will not start below 25F degrees (I'm buying a block heater). The hydraulics are strong but a lot of the hydraulic lines are routed in a way that they rub against metal and frequently spring leaks. The air ride seat is junk. Parts are hard to get and expensive. It is the roughest riding tractor I have ever been in. Would I buy another Mahindra? No. I would look at a Massey Ferguson or a Deutz-Fahr. Both are great tractors and have more features at a good price.

@navarrohillsranch
@navarrohillsranch Жыл бұрын
We put out 50lbs nitrogen and 40lbs phosphorus per acre. This was based on our soil test. We had planned on putting out another 50lbs nitrogen per acre after first baling but there was no rain in the forecast. Next year we are going to put out 100lbs nitrogen at planting time and whatever else the soil test recommends and not split the application unless we switch to liquid fertilizer.
