Being from Nottingham, I was naturally a fan of what were our local heroes back in the eighties. I loved to watch their perfection in their Olympic performances but they’ve definitely lost their crowns to Virtue and Moir. Whilst Torvill and Dean skated beautifully together, Virtue and Moir look intensely passionate when skating together. The closeness between them, the way they look at one another, the way they touch...is what puts Torvill and Dean in the shade. I suppose everyone was a little more conservative back in the eighties and so Tessa and Scott would be deemed too risqué for those days. I do recall Jayne and Chris being asked continuously if they were a couple, which they never were. Tessa and Scott have always been more mysterious (although on their old fly on the wall series, Scott had a girlfriend at that time) in the past two years, the body language between Scott and Tess has intensified. The way he strokes the back of her neck, or the small of her back is way beyond what the bestest of friends would do to one another. I think their love for one another runs very deeply. Whether in a relationship or not, they give off sparks when together. If they aren’t in love with each other, then they deserve Oscars for their acting skills.

Henri Leconte was one of the most entertaining tennis players I have ever seen. He could be serious when necessary but most of the time he just enjoyed playing - and giving the crowd a laugh
