I am sorry but I disagree about submitting to my dad. When my mum and dad got divorced my dad said to me that he had given us to our mother and left. I was 15 years old then. Once he had remarried we saw him every Christmas until my stepbrother was killed and then we were not allowed to see him at Christmas anymore plus he told us that we would not get anything once he died, everything he had would all go to his second wife. I am a single 61-year-old woman who has never married or lived with a man but I did have a child out of wedlock who is 36 years old and has her own family. From the time I was nineteen years old and homeless, I have lived on my own. I love GOD and still want the husband GOD has for me to find me. Is it too late?

My husband and I have been together since I was 18 and was actually living together and I got pregnant ! I have always felt guilty and wanted to please God and not live in sin anymore. Anyways, the pastor was against it and it was hung over my head for years that he wasn’t suppose to marry me . We could had gotten divorced many years ago but I kept praying and repented and have been married going on 23 years. We both had to learn what marriage really is suppose to be about. Understanding God’s purpose outweighs everything in a marriage . Everything voddie is saying is so true. Leaning on God has kept us together and when he was made the center everything changed for the good. God is good and his word is truth! Marriage ain’t no joke and it’s so sad how society doesn’t value or see the true meaning of marriage.

Pastor Baucham has now moved to the top 5 of my list on the question “if I could have one hour/dinner with any person in the world, who would it be?” I would listen as much as I ask questions because I believe he is definitely an Anointed Man of God. But I must humbly disagree and I would welcome an open and respectful discussion with my brothers and sisters in Christ. I watched Pastor Baucham’s Series Love and Marriage and I do not believe the premise that the only purposes of marriage is for children and to raise a family. I think this would have been a great series for young adults who want children and a family but there are many other types of relationships that exist for Christians today. What about women and men who marry later, what about blended families, what about women who are CEO’s of companies and the husbands stay home and take care of the children? What about women who are governors, senators, Vice Presidents, First Ladies (like Michelle Obama)? Also, what is the statistical data on the success of Christian marriages who follow this model that Pastor Baucham preaches about? What about the woman who decides to stay home and take care of the children and then after 25 years of marriage her husband leaves her (even though he is a Christian). It’s not like these examples I give are rare or exceptions---this is life today. In 2023, in major cities, can couples have 5 or 6 children even if they wanted to do so? In many cities such as Los Angeles, the public school system is not good in many areas and parents have to put their children in private school. Can couples today afford $25,000 up to $40,000 a year for private school and then college? Maybe in Texas it’s affordable but not in many places in the country. I believe in Godly principles for marriage and I believe they can be found in the Bible, but I don’t believe there is one set of rules for all marriages. I believe that God made woman to be a helpmate for the man. I believe that is a Godly principle. I believe that a man and woman should honor and respect each other. I believe that is a God principle. I believe that God decides whether we are blessed with one child, many or none. That’s God’s decision not mine. But I do not believe that I have to cook and clean every day and take care of the house. My husband is better at both-he really is. I don’t believe that my family is less than other families because I did not marry until I was 45 years old and we don’t have children. I believe that Pastor Baucham’s family situation is exceptional too. His wife is the First Lady of the church and maybe she should not work. But there are many First Ladies throughout the country that have Ph.D.’s and have careers. I love Pastor Baucham but I think this series doesn’t account for many other Christian marriages and it has nothing to do with women or men not buying into the lie.

My husband and I were married when I was 20 he was 21. We didn't like each other at one point, divorced was discussed often. Prayer, faith, prayer, determination and prayer from both of us, helped us through. Today, 18 years of marriage, we are more in love than we've ever been. Praise and glory to God. No marriage will make it without God, order, prayer, faith, self reflection, willingness to be better and limitless forgiveness

Proverbs 31 "woman," an extensive look from God's word at the ideal woman from the heart and mind of God.... Hmmm, seems this lady is clothed in tapestry, silk and purple (the color of royalty), very expensive, she opens her mouth with wisdom and kindness, (yes she can teach) she OVERSEES the household, she is the manager of all her own works praise her in the gates, "the gates" the place of community decision making she creates and works, she buys land on her own and creates a Vineyard, and take a good hard look at verses 17 and 25....... and you know what, not one single time is the word "submission" found in these verses (from verse 10 all the way to verse 31 all the verses speaking on the virtuous woman) In fact it says her husband safely trusts in her and he has no need for spoil read it for yourself It looks like she takes care of him..... how did women get reduced from this tremendously glowing example of biblical femininity to a lowly servant who needs to keep her mouth shut, you know, "submitted"? Out of what twisted mind did this beautiful example of woman become "evil" in the New Testament.... yes the Proverbs 31 Woman in the New Testament would be called a feminist.......
