Lol it wasn't the camo they was seeing when you was leaning out ! I promise I hunt with a recurve from the ground and I've shot truckloads of deer and turkey all within 15 yards without being detected wearing everything from a plaid shirt , to a" blue" American eagle T-shirt.

You are right, it wasn’t the camo they were seeing. It’s the silhouette. And that’s the whole point of camo, is to break up the silhouette and blend with the environment. Sure, you can take your recurve and your plaid flannel out and shoot deer. But you aren’t always going to have perfect cover. I don’t really care what camo you buy or don’t buy.

Awesome review Rob, subbed! Do you think the straps across the front will be durable enough to carry a platform and sticks together? I would really like to save the interior for layers and gear and not have to put a platform inside. My only concern is the durability of the straps carrying 7-8 lbs of a platform and sticks.
@robzmancave

@@zb5715 thank you!! For what it’s worth, the straps carry my one stick which is about 7lb, with no issue. Something I strap my bow to it. I think it would be fine if you can figure out how to strap it all on there

Does it work with any saddle like a cruzr xc also does it take away my ability to move around the tree and shoot
@robzmancave

It will work with any saddle. In fact, it doesn’t require a saddle to use it. But it is a saddle accessory. It would not hinder movement around the tree because your tether still hooks up the same way. Very cool setup.

I have been wondering for years why did it take so long for hunting companies to bring climbing systems like these out. This is by far a great climbing method. Especially if you incorporate a rappel rope and device. I've been using a lone wolf hand climber for a while now, and climbing like this is a game changer for saddle hunters.
@robzmancave
@robzmancave 22 сағат бұрын
I agree! This is a superior method of climbing. And if you just disconnect it and hang it from your saddle and rappel down. I believe that would be fastest up AND down. And potentially the safest.

@robzmancave You are right about that, that will make it fast. I think if more well-known companies get involved and make their own version. This market may blow up to be something Huge🎯

Most of us already have one of these in a setup we're already familiar with. The bottom section of our climbers , and it's a bigger platform with more foot area that would 100% be more comfortable. And cost us nothing...lol

@robzmancave lol a summit climber will 100% take my full body weight of side pressure. Ive used one for 20 plus years and to get the clearance I sometimes need with my 62 inch longbow, I have to get clear off to the side of the stand... With zero issues.

I wish John had been in Kalamazoo. I’ve been watching a ton of his videos. Even though it seems complex it’s changing my thought process on how I climb. If John can work out a kit through Ape Canyon or someone else it will change how a lot of people climb. I climb with a tether and my lineman’s rope now and it has saved my butt from injury or worse with a kick out or a shift from my climbing apparatus. In my opinion, no slack climbing is the safest way to climb.
@robzmancave
@robzmancave Күн бұрын
I agree, it's the safest way. I hope to see what he does with Ape Canyon!
@jrbtc
@jrbtc Күн бұрын
@kevinanderson4610 Changing the way we think is job 1. And with knowledge, we make tactical changes to increase our safety. Regarding kits, ApeCanyon will be introducing some kits, but unlike every other system you might purchase, I insist that climbers take the responsibility to tie their own knots. They don't need to be tied in the woods, but they do need to be tied. In every other climbing discipline, climbers take that responsibility. They also need to know how to untie them and how to inspect their cords and ropes, because friction hitches don't last forever. I realize this task is daunting to some, but it's not a whole lot more difficult than tying our shoes. And once we get it down, the pride we feel is immense. Cheers and thanks.

I find this hard to believe. My first interaction with John was my concern over the slack involved with one stick climbing. There was a good bit of discussion about how to accomplish this between a group of a few people. It seemed everyone showing interest in this became involved in this group. I have no first hand knowledge of what went down between the two of you but I highly doubt he blew you off. I’ve had a couple conversations on the phone with John about this at his request as his objective has always been to help everyone climb safer. Ive never felt it was his intention to be the only one to receive recognition for this. I can’t even begin to express my thanks for the time and money he’s spent in his busy life to help everyone climb safer.

A few years back I was really interested in this sight. I had a question then and have the same question today. Can you aim with both eyes open? I picked one up one day and struggled, just holding it at arms length, trying to aim. I sent an email asking the question but never got a reply. I am still intrigued at the concept and did not know about the money back agreement. Can anyone tell me about the aiming question? I'd try one if you can keep both eyes open.

This bowsight works as advertised!! You have to shoot it for a while as it is a total different shooting experience, at known distances I use the tics and can focus on my spot for precise accuracy without blurry pins in the way and the ranging characteristics ( with practice) just work. In the end for me it’s a better shooting experience ( no target panic) from beginning of shot until arrow hits the target with this sight especially with 50+ year old eyes!

Unlike a 3-D shoot, I have never walked up to a deer & shot it. In most cases, I am pulled back long before I take the shot. The shot may be 15 yards or 30 yards. I don't determine that, the live game I am hunting determines that. For that reason alone, I would never use a movable pin sight. When it's crunch time, I don't even want to pick a pin on a multiple pin sight. I believe in KISS (keep it simple stupid). I have harvested a few deer with the EZ-V, & it works pretty well for hunting. I still prefer a simple single fixed vertical pin sight. I practice at unknown distances all summer long, & I somewhat instinctively know where to put that single pin. I don't need a range finder to sense the shot it out of my range. My younger brother & I have 3 to 4 decades of bow hunting under our belts. If you look at our compound bows, you will find a single fixed vertical (hate horizontal) pin sight on our bows (HHA Cadet Optimizer for youth). I pretty much hate everything else except the EZ-V.
