John Cho could’ve been a good Spike. You needed writing higher than a third grader and better timing on special effects. I could not sit through this series and repeatedly turned it off. And that’s really too bad. I wish John Cho well.

After watching Ted Lasso, it's crazy seeing Tim (the sassy Commtech guy) is the same actor who plays Nate in that show. Great to see Nick Mohammed in more stuff. He was great in this and Ted Lasso.

Yeah asking yes or no questions/only being able to point the camera isn’t ideal, but for an initial confirmation of working communication systems, it’s necessary for both parties. A more versatile and robust system will be put in place later (as is shown in the film with hexadecimal), but for now, first contact is needed in order to establish a proper system, Mr. Finest-Comm-Tech

Man this movie sucked, maybe if Matt Damon actually seemed like he was in danger instead of cracking jokes the whole time, incredibly miscast. One of ridleys worst by far

''Are you receiving me, yes or no?''. That's 1 answer question. If they answer yes, they obviously are and if they answer no, they obviously lying since they were able to respond.

So a podcast called "The Bebop Beat" managed to interview the live action writers/directors post cancellation. The answers were...illuminating. The writer who decided to include Mad Pierrot in the live action version is Javier Pierrot Marxauch. His reasoning for including the character was because he thought the original anime version was perfect, and couldn't be improved upon or even matched.... ....yes that was his *actual* reasoning.

why a dog toy instead of a cat toy lmfao? Tongpu being scared of cats and then having the same response to Spike when his artificial eye flashes adds to the metaphor of Spike being the cat that’s died a million deaths.

I realise something : the film take place in 2035 and the computers are 90’s Model and today you can’t even use a Computer with 4 year old version off Windows . Had the guy at JPL digg out a museum piece too run the prob?

When you look at the details, you realise that when he dropped the placate, it dropped very slow because Mars has only 40% of the Earth's gravity. I love it, that they did their homework and paid attention to the details.

You're welcome. Recently replaced the I7-10700F with an I5-11400, from another Dell 'donor.' Because I can. There are some advantages, but at best the performance is less than equivalent. That configuration remains stable.

I've watched this movie several times and really enjoyed it; but, it bothers me that all this equipment is there before the crew arrives. I mean, the tires on the rover alone probably weigh in at 500-1000 pounds and there were two of them. Just how many rockets did NASA send with equipment/supplies before the crew, and how did they get everything put together in their initial 30 days on the planet? It wouldn't have been feasible to send everything already put together.

I really like Tim's character and I totally missed his sarcasm on my first viewing. I had a similar quick wit that I quickly learned to suppress during tense moments when I started my job. It seems Tim was always capable enough at his work that he never really felt the need to pay attention to his tone. When he makes that joke avout tge Algonquin round he's not just being an ass, he's raising attention to the issue that this is not an effective form of communication, which leads to the use of hexadecimals. But a more professional person wouldve said that after turning the camera lol

Tim may have been a smart mouth at JPL, but he did pretty well as a Kit Man and then assistant coach at AFC Richmond (and for a short while at West Ham). Had to change his name for some reason, though.
