Are you crazy? This game was awesome! The AI was weak, so I was able to go 160-2 in my season and Jermaine Dye had over 600 homeruns, but still, awesome graphics, better than The Show today.

@TommyD1213 not gonna lie I’ve always struggled making it through baseball games (mainly into football) even though I played irl for 11 years 😅 but I remember the graphics being pretty good for the time and the gameplay was solid. Just wish batting wasn’t so hard but it makes sense.

I used to love this game. The graphics were unreal at the time. The only issue I had was not being able to play defense. Then 2k2 came out and it was a massive downgrade on the graphics but the gameplay was good

GameCube really had some amazing titles. Grew up on the ps2 and Dreamcast so playing these for the first time has been great lol.

Fzero is definitely a racer that will beat your ass for a good while just cause of how movement works GameCube is the one I grew up with I only recently got a ps2 and never owned a Dreamcast

@lebbanator haha you’re totally right about the challenge of movement in this game… but I can see how it opens up the game to a lot of technique. When I finally caught on to the drifting it was an awesome moment. It’s a lot of fun playing some of these games nowadays. You should totally check out some of the Dreamcast exclusives.

Was starting to notice this as I got deeper into the game. It’s effectively a sock n boppers game with anime characters haha. The ps3 version is a lot better imo, but still suffers from a lot of the Arcady styling you mention.

I just found this game on actduck mobile app

While playing I kept being surprised by the mechanics and movement for the time. Extremely fluid, good maps and customization with multi layer objectives were really cool - but it feels like it needed an update or something for the little things. I left a lot out but the glitches, gunplay and AI were a bit annoying. I can’t understate how boring the gunplay is for a shooter 😭 But I gotta say you’re 100% right about it dropping today and taking off. Refine those controls and it’s gg.

@@retroripple yeah it just came out at a time where movement and shooters done right was literally just sprint 🤣 anything besides quake that tried fast movement and jumping just ended up flawed in one way or the other. Today its such a staple in shooters to climb and parkour and all this other stuff that it would fit right in. It was too niche at the time and wasn't as polished as battlefields or halos or call of dutys when it came to overall gunplay. But if it never came out back then, who knows if we would ever have gotten this far in fps movement and mechanics.

That actually a really good perspective because you’re right - fps games barely even had any movement. Like sprinting alone was barely a thing 😂 games like Quake or Tribes relied on cs go looking surfing for their movement, but Brink really did make vaulting, sprinting and wall movement “feel good” in an FPS game. Definitely a fun game to explore the history of! Thanks for the idea 😈
