This song is very bitter sweet to me. The movie Goodbye Girl was the last movie I saw with the love of my life when we parted.

Pure gold. Real instruments, real good players, every single song a masterpiece. One of these songs contains the artisanship found in 500 songs of today all together.

The “cabaret” version of The Hollies, back when their manager had them on the lucrative but somewhat humiliating “chicken in a basket” circuit. Not surprising Willie left soon after.

Can’t believe deez guyze actually play their own instruments while singing without vocal pitch correction??!! Valentine, never heard of them but sound like they influenced Wild Cherry, Funky Music White Boy. Very good

Did Allen not have time to change into his suit? And what’s up with those baggy pants? Bell bottoms/flares weren’t in fashion yet.

Obviously, David is brilliant, but this recording shows how amazing Jimmy was. Mike is so phenomenal and in the pocket - one of the greatest drummers ever. Lastly, LARRY!! What a musician! Thanks for this audio. ❤👍

Maybe David will read my praise of his amazing talent, but if he does I can tell him I too was born in 1940 and still here as he is, and loving the genius which is David Gates. In 1970 I was in the USA working in L.A. while he was here in the UK. Wish I had been able to see him live. Just a wonderful treat to see this. God Bless David.

Shame that the sound man got the balance wrong on this performance, vocals not up front making the lyrics coming from the background and completely lost.

The Association was the first "big name" band I ever saw in concert. They were a very tight and professional group and, despite the ballads they're so well known for, they could also really ROCK!!
