There is a video that shows exactly how it's done. Keep searching.

I wish I had seen this a week earlier! I'm off to order a new ridge cap to replace the one I butchered. LOL

Looks great. I think it would be hard to do with thicker gauge Metal. I will definitely use this thanks

Watched this a hundred times last night....till I got the sense of it. I think ive got it now. I shudder to think how my hip caps would have turned out if it wasnt for your great video....thanks , Lisa

Very nice, I normally don't bend the second leg under but I may have to start now

It looks way better with that extra step and slides under the drip edge

Thanks for the GREAT no nonsense video. After quite a bit of trial and error I came up with a very similar method for the same type of cap on my hip roof, but your method is easier/faster and looks just as good. Now I'm trying to figure out how to cut and fold of the same kind of cap at the intersection between two hips and a ridge. Hoping to find a video to speed up the process. Any ideas?

Just another question.sorry if I've been rude but why fold the bottom of the ridge under the sheets? I thought folding it down let's the water drip off?

Tab Under. Not tab over. Rivet the bend down to the tab under.

True. This is a self taught method from trial and error. Thanks

Great video. Much easier than the method I’ve been using. What was the pitch of the roof and do the measurements change with the pitch?
@Mikemetalroofing
@Mikemetalroofing Жыл бұрын
The first measure will vary depend on pitch. This roof was a 6 i believe. To get the first measure is very easy just line up the ridge cap uncut and mark both sides at the drip edge if that makes sense.
@Quigz1983
@Quigz1983 Жыл бұрын
No change in pitch he just used a set square tomarka 45 then muck around after that.
@Quigz1983
@Quigz1983 Жыл бұрын
I didn't realise sorry a 45 degree cut changes on a pitch at a ridge capping... I always thought it was 45 to square without worrying about the pitch factor 🤔
